Choice of Broadsides

I never really expected this much coming out if this kind of text-based games. I downloaded this game out of sheer curiosity and decided to give it a try. My god, I was absolutely blown away by this game. It was fun and engaging, with an interesting, non-cliché plot. The choices I made really impacted the story. Many action sequences leaves you on the edge of your seat. I would definitely reccomend this game to a friend and give all my support for these games and the developers. Please make more of these fun games for your fans!

A lot fun and a great story. A lot of neat detail that really draws you into the story. The one major issue is it's very short. Maybe 45 minutes to play through. You can replay but you know the story, so it's not as fun. I made different choices and got essentially the same ending.

I loved the story and the stats system. Choices went pretty well for me but I got a terrible ending which is kind of annoying when I worked so hard just to have everyone hate me in the end. Ending needs slight improvements.

Choices are intense the first time but don't matter as much as I thought. Also the author does a poor job keeping their (probably her) political opinions out of the work, and I often felt like I was punished for my reaction to events and for being a man.

I enjoyed it , played both as an honourable lowly captain that relies on his charisma and skill in fighting as well as a ruthless cold hearted captain that has earned his position due to his legacy and smarts but punishes his crew for the smallest mistakes. It is set in a world similar to our own so don't expect any magic or sea creatures. My only gripe is the ending , literally a single page. You do x and done thanks for playing.

Enjoyed the story. I felt like a true hero of the high seas. Main Gripe: too short and ended ridiculously abruptly. One moment your making decisions and the next you're reading a single page detailing the rest of your life. Then it ends. That's it. This ending feels very rushed and makes the game feel incomplete.

The game is phenomenal in my opinion. The storyline so great, it is quite lengthy but no too much which adds to the enjoyment as it does not end too soon. The choices are versatile and you really feel immersed in the story. Overall the game is great and I highly recommend

Absolutely loved the game, and beat it on the first day. Therein lies the only issue. It was too short. I'd gladly pay premium price for a pirate CYOA that is far longer and more in depth. Aside from that, it was fun and exciting. The devs definitely did their homework. Thanks!

The story was interesting at first, but then it seems like it could have been done a much better job to develop it. Maybe it's because of my decision... I don't know for sure. Anyway I didn't like my ending, it was poorly done

Amazing storyline, and the stats system ties everything together smoothly! One of my favorite "Choice of" games yet! I very much wish to see more like this one. It was very well put together, and an all around great game. 5 stars, and nothing less! My only suggestion is that the ending is worked on, a bit. I enjoyed the way the story ends, it's just that the last portion of your life was crammed onto a page, and was in a way, rushed. Other than that, great job, with this one!

It ended fairly quickly, the time skips felt too large(three years went by with literally nothing worth noting happening seems kind of unbelievable), but that could just be because of the choices I personally made. Either way, this was amazingly written and done really well. ???? P.S. You might want to update that whole, purchase the pass so you don't have to wait thing, because mine glitched and I went through it in about 3 straight hours. Just saying.

I think that it was well put together. Giving a little back ground before I go over things, I am pretty astute in this time periods history. Mainly of British. I will now go over the pros and cons. Pros Good storytelling Above average accuracy Cons Rather short Ending was rather underwhelming I have to wait to play because I did not pay a over inflated 5 dollars. One of the better of these games though. Developer please address these issues and I will be happy to make it a higher ranking.

This is the ONLY commented rating I have submitted to any of these Interactive Stories. This is a true FREE story, with the ability to go from beggining to end in a reasonable amount of time. (Unlike most of these where by the time readers gather the chapter requirements to go on with the story they either lose interest and/or forget what happened during their last session.) This is NOT one of those, even though this would be more likely considered a short story, I can not think of a single complaint! The developers of this story has gained my respect, I will be following your guys' more closely now AND I will definatly be recommending your stories to anyone that I cross paths with... Amazing! This game not only made me see multiple angles, but I genuinely felt bad for the enemy. Must have.

Stupdily tried to impress a 'shy girl' with tales of blood and gore from my past battles. Gosh im an idiot. Sucks the game is so short though...

A fairly decent game. The author should've done more research on colonial era military punishment though because there's a part where you can choose to court martial and hang a crew member for falling asleep on watch during a war while at sea, but the future outcome of choosing to do so is unrealistic. I have it on good authority that back in that time period, the penalty for the above stated offense was death during wartime. Also, it's pretty much impossible to prevent the mutiny from happening on the HMS Defender which is also unrealistic.

Worst Ending Ever How can the writer be so nonchalant about the ending which is the most important part of the story which makes a lasting impact. I feel story falters in romance and ending but regarding a navy life its very good

An enjoyable and past-paced read, the author writes with enough skill , that the story is never caught with its "sails unfurelled" Perhaps the only complaint I have is that the length of the game is somewhat underwhelming, however I still recommend it to anybody who enjoys reading. P.S name your character Edward Kenday, its awesome.

Really short and kind of a boring story. Doesn't really give you a feel for the characters

The game is perfect apart from having to wait 20 minutes to play again! It is the stupidest thing ever!

Although very similar in places to a certain well known book/movie this is a good story. The writer put some effort in, which is nice. Only thing is its too short, but repeatability makes up for it.

The story was absolutely great. It tested my judgment and really got me thinking. I enjoyed all of the options and variety and I'd recommend to anyone. Please make more I love your games! And download this story it's awesome.

Absolutely loved it! The story is enthralling and has enough twists that I keep on coming back for more! I love the different routes, sleek interface and the fact you can die. Not too long or short and just turn off the wifi if you hate ads.

Good story. But...... way to short though you can complete by 2 hours i wish there was an additional 10 chapter

In the end, the game turned out to be a lot more than I expected it to be and I managed to replay it several times. Overall, it was great if not slightly predictable at times.

If you're a fan of Hornblower or Jack Aubrey then this is for you. A great mini-story, brilliantly told with lots of choices to make and with a lot of historical accuracy. Score: 99/100. It loses 1 point for the use of Albion and Gaul instead of England and France - no idea why they felt the need to do that? But get it, it's excellent

OMG this is amazing it feels like your there in real time once you start reading you can't stop I will continue to read theses guys books there amazing keep up the great work I hope to see more naval action books in the future.

Too short and too big time lapses with no control. More action needed

The story is quite challenging and intense especially to people that are not familiar with sailing and war and such. The choices are pretty intense that change the overall story.

This story was actually a lot of fun. I really hope this story gets a longer version at some point. My only complaint was how short it was.

Would of rate it more if full version was $2.00 instead of it's high price this is a text based game not a game where you pay for graphics this is easy to make comparing to that.

to short could be longer some of the choices don't have much effect on the story wish it told you how many endings there are so you don't have to play the story a thousand times just to figure it out other than that it's a really good story and the whole thing's free (unless you want to buy it ad free)

Need help I payed for this and Uninstalled the game I have reinstalled but now I can get the full game back email me and I will send proof that I have payed for it

This game was really fun and captivating... But!!! It ends way to quickly! You feel like i have only completed 15% of the story and the other 85% is just slapped together in the ending credits.... It's like waking up at Christmas to find that your only present is a half eaten doughnut...

If your bored and want to test your mind with some difficult yet entertaining decisions, look no further. My only issue is that it was over too soon.

Generally well written and put together. It offers a couple hours of good reading and the choices you make that affect your character are fun. Although it's short, that can be expected of a text adventure - has a fair amount of replayability too.

I like it cause you just need to go through ads rather paying and also create a game that the storyline is all base around World War 1

I ended up at 5 because it is challenging and (similar to real life) your choices are constrained by social expectations. A bit short.
