About Tiny Text Adventure

Embark on an adventure - just a small one - an adventure in the amazing realm of text! Go North, South, Up, Down, into a cupboard, out of a cupboard, the possibilities are endless in your imagination. In this game however the possibilities are finite and are likely to be quickly exhausted but not before you've had a tiny adventure all of your own.

This game harks back to the original text adventures of the authors youth - Colossal Cave, Sphinx Adventure, Zork. Experience a tiny subset of the majesty of this genre without the painful need to actually type text on a mobile device.

Can you make a free version of the second part, please? I would willingly pay for it, but Google refuses to let me do so. EDIT: Issue solved, I guess Google saw my comment and made a fix. Phone credit happily spent!

I really love the design of this game. The only thing I was the smallest bit upset about was, that there was no back story that I knew of. It would have given the story that last little kick. I liked how you also included hints, but in a form of riddles. The walkthrough is a little hard to follow, but it was really helpful. Fantastic game altogether, and I can't wait to play part 2.

I absolutely LOVE this thing! But I found a problem you might wanna check out... Whenever the rock in the mines was broken with the pickaxe again after you freed the shopkeeper and gve him your map, another shopkeeper would spawn, waiting in the prison freed for eternity, as you have no other map. I suggest you check that out! Other than that, this is AMAZING!

I think I'm having the same problem as a few others with Samsung devices. I got stuck trying to find the necklace but I couldn't access the menu. I really like the game though -- bummed I couldn't keep playing. Thank you!

Love this game. When I was a kid I remembered my aunts and uncles used to use these type of game to improve my cousins reading, imagination, and ability to follow directions. Bought the second game after I finished this one, would love to see more this type of game. Scored 106% at the end of the game. Anyone know what is the highest point possible?

After I make the blunt axe and go to the smithy the blunt axe disappears so I'm stuck there. I restarted and the same result. EDIT: I have a Samsung Galaxy grand prime

Awesome game! This adventure is reminiscent of the good old text adventures - Scott Adams, Infocom, all the good stuff! I love the interface - no more trying to guess what to do by throwing together random commands and objects. The writing was great, the plot was fun, and the difficulty level was perfect for casual fun. I just finished it and have already downloaded part two. I wish there were more games like this out there. Keep up the great work!

This game is such a great find! After hours of scrolling the play store for simple, yet brilliant games with detailed, and brilliant storylines- i have downloaded other games of this genre, but this has to be the best because its so easy to use and it keeps me entertained and keeps my brain working out the logic aspects. If i had to say one thing wrong with it, it would be when you have to select 'north, south' etc, the text is too small and it can be frustrating to get the right one.great game!

I used to play MSDOS games like this in the 80's. I was bad at them then, I am bad at them now. One star because I cant get past the basic part of the game. My bad.

Great game, I applaud the callbacks to old text adventures and the ease of use. It's wonderful to not have to type out seemingly random instructions. The lack of an apparent story is obvious, but not a serious drawback. It's very short, but that serves the purpose of only making a player want more. For those not acquainted with text adventures, the built-in hint system and walkthrough are very handy. Worth a play!

Hi Julian, it's a great game nevertheless I think I do have several problems with it. Got the necklace but that wide shouldered merchant doesnt want to talk to me at all. What a bum rap. Also I've never seen none of those town pictures during the game. Samsung tab 4 10.1"

Good in the beginning, above average in the middle and utterly mediocre by the end. A good effort...

I really enjoyed this, an accessible and fun reminder of a genre which works particularly well on a mobile platform.

Love the idea :) the story has been great so far and tge use if tge tools r good. The one thing I think what would make it better would be the way you choose the directions of where to go. Im not too keen on the tiny colored named links and I think it would be really cool if there was a picture of the place and u press on arrows :) just an idia :)

I don't normally review, but I just finished this game and was sad for it to end. It was fun, not too difficult, and full of humour. A friar with jazz hands... I loved it. I would have liked it to be longer and slightly more difficult as it progressed. I really liked the interface and descriptions; this was a great way to make a text based adventure on a touch screen. Thanks.:)

Well I've completed the clock and rescued the shop keeper, but now I'm stick with no obvious exits that I haven't already used. I cannot access the menu on my Samsung Galaxy S5 - pressing the task switch button does just that. You need a dedicated menu button.... *EDIT* I wasn't "long pressing" long enough. Can now access menu. Thanks.

It was good but way too easy and short I think they should add more complicated tasks but other than that it was really cool.

Thank you so much for writing this. Every now and then I wonder what happened to the text adventure games we used to write and play in the eighties. You've taken me back in time

I think I could really love the game but I'm not able to use it properly 'cause my menu button doesn't work. Tried to contact the developer via email a few days ago but never got any reaction. Perhaps it's my phone (S6) and I will never be allowed to play. :-/

Although really short. The story was fairly good though it seemed to be lacking something. Maybe more character development and more twists that keep you invested in the story (like the twist at the end). Very interesting and fun. Looking forward to trying out next one. Keep up the good work.

Am I missing something, or is there no menu button in the app? I recall seeing info about maps and hints when I started the game, but there is no way to access them? I can't even find a way to restart or change any settings. Samsung S6 Edge, where the old phone based menu button now brings up frequently used apps instead.

I seem to be going in circles. I rescued shopkeeper but after that I keep wondering the same areas. Tried following walkthrough online but can't get to merchant lane. I also couldn't find the menu that is mentioned by in the other comments.

Had a blast playing this game. It's really well done, with creative puzzles, and a perfectly-sized and logical map. Well written descriptions and funny characters, too. Definitely recalled the imagination of Infocom games.

This is by far the closest hypertext fiction I have seen which still feels like it maintains interactive fiction's freedom of movement. Not to mention the fact that pushing a button is easier than typing a command for a mobile gamer. This game was amazing!

It had a little bit of everything a text adventure should have, with some quirky humor to keep things fun. Looking forward to the sequel (which I hear is much longer... definitely a plus)

While it reminds me a little of text adventures from the 80s, it lacks a storyline other than wandering into areas with something to conveniently do seemingly for no other reason than to do it, which is fine... The player needs intellectual stimulation, conflict of plot twists, interaction beyond minor whimsical statements reminiscent of Infocom games, depth of character, etc. Nice first attempt, plus it's free, but if you could put together something deeper I would be more than willing to drop some coin
