Chess Genius

** Definitely feels abandoned which is a huge shame. ** A gem of a program that will suit everyone. Crystal clear and easy to use. The only thing I would ask is that you add an ability to analyse completed games, maybe with some simple annotation. C.G. Would then be ideal as a training aide for younger children.

This app is strong enough to defeat Kasparov, yet user friendly enough that it has taught my son to play the game. The levels go low enough that my son after 2 weeks can win against its first beginner level. You could purchase this program. Use it to become a Grandmaster and you would still not need to update it. This is a companion for life.

It looks abandoned...it is a great app...it should include options to import komodo stockfish etc...that will make it special!

Please add analysis feature to the application,so as to enable analysis After each game. This will help to improve chess

POOR HINTS, TUTOR & SAVE/LOAD SOLUTION. This app has many good features, as told us by the developer. But there are far better apps, like Shredder and others. This app gives you poor hints and gives false tutor -blunderwarning for "genius" moves. You will lose against the engine's Easy levels if you follow the hints. Easy levels are not good for training beginners when using hints, as these levels are far above 12-1600 elo.Clipboard saving works well, but not the database menu. There are no resign/draw option.

Have to say I love it, my go to app hands down. I just wish it had a resign or draw button instead of having to always play it out. In my opinion, it would be perfect then. Hopefully we get to see those buttons some time.

It needs an option to offer a draw. Other than that, its wonderful!

Wish it could give automatic hints about the good moves while playing.

Only chess app that classifies the opening played at the bottom of the chess board. No other app known to me does that.

But it cannot compete against Say Stockfish or Komodo the developer should make this app to integrate Stockfish because what makes ChessGenius unique is the size of it via what it can do its super small on your phone doesn't make your phone lag or such and what it does its doing it well but the strength isn't there like somebody else also mentions not at all in the league of Stockfish!. I know this App from Symbian times ,its still good but integrate Stockfish into it Pleeeeeeeese!

I'm a solid 1900 player and I have NEVER beat this program on easy12....and I've had this program since 2006

I spent money for this, I thought it was rich program it was wrong hint tutorial this makes me hatred I wish I may refund this app.

Great app...but have to keep touching screen to be able to view!!! Please fix!!!

High level, analysis mode, setup position.

Its annoying there is no option to keep screen "always on" while thinking your next move, so you have to keep touching the screen to avoid screen fade away (for power management)

Chess Genius combines a clean UI, simple and useful analysis tools to develop your game and an engine that is challenging and fun to play against. The easier levels, where the engine makes occasional intentional mistakes suit me at the moment. I'm not a great player so I can't comment on the strength of the engine for a very highly rated player (aside from the fact that it once beat Garry Kasparov), but I can safely say it's plenty strong enough for anybody else. Really highly recommended.

Here is the truth: If you are already a super grandmaster, then you may not need chessgenius. For the rest of us mere mortals (or NM,IM), ChessGenius is a genius way to improve our games because it felt like playing with a human quality and walks you along the way as you improve your game. If you play with komo9 or sf6, it felt cold and you will be crushed right away. No forgiveness. No learning. But ChessGenius is a gentler but sharp and aggressive chess sparring partner. It may not be your analyses friend, but it can be your sparring chess partner for life... The UI board and chess pieces is one of the best looking out there...

One of my favorites. Identifies openings. Can load games from pgn and play from any position. Many difficulty levels. Clocks, move list, etc. Top quality, pro features. Thank you!

Strong chess programme but does not appear to have adjustable playing strength.

I have used this on my Palm Pilot and was amazed at how strong it was. On my Droid X, it's the strongest chess program in my collection.
