This app is an alternative race engineer for Project Cars which contains more accurate and detailed radio messages than the built in race engineer. It knows many of the AI drivers' names which will be included in messages where appropriate, and can also be extended to include real drivers' names. It's also a spotter, and will tell you when there's a car along side. The app includes voice recognition with a set of phrases you can use to request updates from the race engineer.
The app runs in the background and continues to play messages when the screen is off or another application is being used.
This version is the full app and includes some bad language, which can be disabled with the 'use sweary messages' setting.
To use the app, your phone / tablet must be connected to via Wi-Fi to the same network that the console / PC is on. The app needs a good quality connection to work properly. In the in-game options you need enable the UDP option (in the Gameplay settings). The app works best with this option set to 1, 2, or 3.

Voice commands
The app will respond to lots of voice commands. Using this functionality isn't necessary to get the best out of the app - it will automatically play messages it considers important without needing to be prompted - but some additional information can be obtained by using voice commands. The commands the app understands include:
How's my [engine / brakes / suspension / body work / aero] - gives a damage assessment
How's my [fuel / tyre wear] - gives an assessment of your current fuel level or tyre condition
What's fuel level - reports your fuel level (in litres)
What's my [best lap time / last lap time / position] - reports your best / last lap time (if it was a valid lap) or your position
What's my [gap in front / gap behind] - reports the time gap to the car in front / behind in the race
What's the [car in front / car behind]'s [best lap time / last lap time] - reports opponent best / last lap times
What's the [car in front / car behind / the leader]'s [best lap time / last lap time] - reports opponent best / last lap times
What's the [car in P 10]'s [best lap time / last lap time] - reports opponent best / last lap times for the specified opponent race position
What's the [air temperature / track temperature] - reports the air or track temperature
Spot / don't spot - toggles the spotter function on / off
Keep quiet / shut up / I know what I'm doing / no more updates - temporarily switches off radio messages (note that the spotter messages will continue to play)
Keep me informed / talk to me - switches radio messages back on
Repeat last message / say again / repeat please - replay the last radio message

It's got a number of options to personalize everything & have your chief tell you what info you need. I can sense a lot of work went into this app, but it also could take advantage of a dashboard like what we see other apps doing as well. This what be THE app for any racing game if you guys could pull that off. Still, great job guys & good luck with updating PC2 ;)

Update I've had this for over a year it's been great but all the sudden now it says when I try to turn it on it says license details unavailable and it won't let me turn it on or license something's wrong with a stinking license anyway please tell me what I need to do I tried for stop and then tried it again and nothing's working thank you

I love it or at least Loved it because this latest update seems to have ruined my experience somewhat. The crew chief doesn't seem to his right from his left anymore and hardly speaks. Do I need to change settings to accommodate this update or is it just full with bugs? I know Project Cars 2 is on the way and maybe you guys are trying to adjust the software but I'm a little annoyed and my experience now is a little dampened. Any advice or just sit tight? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

Really clean interface with great degree of control over things like what distance the spotter declares other cars. Doesn't have Travis as a personalisation though :D

The perfect complement to Project Cars, all info is relayed quickly and accurately... Really brings the races to life. I absolutely adore this app, highly recommended. For anyone struggling with voice commands i suggest plugging in a headset (ps4 mono earpiece for example) for better communication with the app, works much better. Just get the app, its brilliant.

Fantastic addition to the game, I literally never play without it. Worth it for the spotter feature alone, but the fact that it can supply you with so much more info by simple voice commands makes it an absolutely brilliant companion app. My only (minor) complaint is that the voice recognition can be a bit finicky at times, but other than that, I consider this app to be indispensable.

First off, the crew chief calls me by my real name, because, there are presets with a good list of commonly used names. I personally think the app is clever in many ways. It responds to your driving, and often times gives you "words of encouragement" we'll call it. Over all it's my favorite app, and I use a few while I play project cars.

Recently got P.Cars, was disappointed with the in game lack of interaction with the Race Engineer compared to a game like F1 2016. Looked into this app, and bought it. Easy to say, it's an easy and great investment. The immersion within races now is so much more, and enjoyable. Definitely 5 stars.

Absolutely awesome. I am an amature for sure but one of the things I always hated was not being specially aware with one monitor. Thanks to this app I no longer take people out on the first lap like the days of old. Additional, Jim does a very good job of speaking through a mic and not feeling forced. This may be because I'm a stinky American. Either way love it! Would love to submit my voice to the app if you feel you ever need more.
