Sudoku for Android
Glitches every once in awhile. Not a lot. I love the different levels. Great for learning tricks when using the hint button. Overall awesome. I'd love to be able to use my own backgrounds but the ones they have are nice. I shouldn't be writing this now cause I have a headache and can't think straight but ... I do wish I could access the timers after the fact to see my progress.
I've played Sudoku for years but stopped because I like to keep notes as I go but it was not available on ones I tried for my phone. This one allows notes & makes it easy to use them plus it tells you when a row or square is completed correctly. That makes it much easier to work the puzzles. I like a challenge but don't want frustration when I'm playing. Thanks for a great game!
I like this game but there's an inherent issue with how you check correctness of a solution. Your assumption that there could be just one solution to a puzzle is wrong. It happened with me, I found a correct solution but I guess it did not match with what your algorithm found so it considered it wrong and the check feature would wrongly mark the unmatched numbers even though they are correct. If you want I can send you a picture of my solution.
If you are willing to put your thinking cap on this game will provide hours of entertainment as well as practice at using your thought process. This is the most pleasant past-time I have found among Android games. Plus I have never had to deal with an over abundance of advertising. The programming team that put this game together are awesome.
I love the number painting. Makes it much quicker to solve the puzzle. I don't so much like the animation at the end of game when you have to wait for it to count up to your score. Maybe it's just my phone (or my age?), but I find it hard to see the possible numbers when that number is highlighted. White number with yellow highlight over it -- not a good combo.
This app is NSFW - but not THAT way. When it presents advertising, itblasts out videos with blaring audio. Only suitable for when you can make a lot of noise. It also takes a long time to load some of the time. If you are fine with all of that, the game is good. I recommend using the "paint" feature.
Overall, great sudoku, helped me emerge as a professional sudoku player in the Himalayas. I have made you proud again sensei, by the strength of the Shimada clan I found my inner peace, through the lens of the Sharingan, I see the truth, and through the legacy of the Rrasengan of the 4th Hokage, I have brought honor to the Shinobi. It's also got 5 different levels of difficulty.
The only reason I give this a one star, is because of the damn 8 second video ads with audio between games. Picture ads are ok but when I have to sit through a video ad with audio and it blasts through my phone full volume and you can't skip it, it's stupid honestly like come on guy. Everything else is perfect, just stick to picture ads please.
Very nicely designed. I like that it doesn't just give you the answer with the hint button but helps you on how to actually get it, while teaching you new methods and tricks. Successfully, saves the work I do and has challenging levels. The only thing is that it can glitch sometimes. Overall, one of the best sudoku apps there are.
Still love it. This is the easiest and fastest way to play Sudoku puzzles, of any difficulty level or any configuration- symbol or shape. Just wish a number, when tapped, would stay functional while a player would place a number or write down the options for placement within the whole puzzle, even while toggling between placement and guesses. Only suggestion I have for improvement or ease of play.
Love this game! I got my husband playing it and he doesn't play games but really enjoys it. I'm trying to work my way to 'Expert.' It's very challenging! Not for the faint of heart. I'm trying to learn all about the X-Wing, swordfish, etc. Good for the brain!
okay so I downloaded this hoping for some nice sudoku that can be solved on easy in a few minutes. Im fairly good at sudoku, but in plain easy mode it was unsolvable. In expert you couldnt place a single number. 1 star too hard in easy mode not physically possible in expert.
This app might make the game too easy for hard core fans because it adjusts your notes automatically and prevents you from making most, but not all mistakes. But for the average sudoku player it is perfect and extremely helpful. The hint feature and error correcting feature are optional so you can figure out your own clues or get a nudge when you're completely lost. Maybe I'll get too dependant on these helpful features and never be able to return to the puzzle book and pencil way of doing things. But if that was never your style you'll love this version.
Finally a Sudoku game that does everything I want it to. You can use as much or as little help as you need. Hints are perfect for those that are learning. Tools are well done. Pleasing to the eye... Pretty without being too bright or busy, with options for colour scheme. I'm very pleased with it! ???? I see a few people complaining about ads... firstly, it's a free app of course there are ads! If you find them loud, turn down or mute your phone. If you don't want to watch them, use your back button!
My favorite sudoku game... This is my favorite version of online sudoku. Decent graphics, easy controls, not too many bugs in all the time I have been playing it. Doesn't crash. It is a bit touchy if you hit a line with your fat fingers, but not too big of a deal.
Love this game, and like that you can use number painting to speed up the process. However, I take issue with moving from hard to expert without added tutorial. Expert setting has difficult terminology and sub par explanations to justify hints. I'd rate it 5 stars if there was more of a progression to allow a user to move up without the help of an outside source
I enjoy playing Brainium sudoku. Above all I appreciate the guidelines which lead to conclusions. What sucks is "undo" (too many clicks) I'd suggest to add in highlight of selected number all excluded fields of the same number, not exclusively of the touched digit
Been playing for two years or so, this is great for passing time away quickly. Unfortunately there is an occasional glitch that erases all my points though which rots. Not that I play for the points but still.... So rated controls 1, rest great.
Love it! Nicely done with many difficulty levels to choose from. I love that I can look at a record of my stats. I don't really pay attention to the scoring system at the end because it is easy to accidentally make mistakes. The only thing I would change is to add more graphic choices.
Excellent app for Sudoku. The hints are really well done. They tend to draw your attention to a suitable strategy rather than a simplistic solution for a single cell. e.g. "examine this block". I find this really helps me play better and move up in difficulty. Also the ads are not constantly in your face. They appear briefly on startup but not while you are playing. Highly recommended!!
I like this Sudoku game a lot. My only complaint is the "finned swordfish" hint. I dont understand how it works and I wish there was a better explaination for its methods. Other than that the missing pair and hidden pair hints are great and it teaches you decent strategies.
Update: Still a lot of ads on the free edition, but better than before. Ad before almost every game, even if you can finish the board in 10 seconds! Plus my battery monitor always wanrs me to shut it off
Hate the adds. Would be willing to pay for app but I feel the price is to high. Maybe a pop up add every 5th game but not take the whole screen. Enjoy the game don't like expert due to lack of starting point, solution point.
Great game and game play. Well designed and easy to get hooked. Low rating is because the app is a huge battery drain, even when backgrounded. Fun to play but needs to be better coded to reduce the toll on battery life. Uninstalled due to this reason, but sad to do so.
OK but far too many ads (literally loads it's ridiculous) and I hated clicking on a square for it to highlight the whole row/column. I also didn't like that when the number was completed it wasn't clearly highlighted as such. Uninstalled and trying another one now.
Excellent overall. The hint feature is particularly useful as it helps you understand the logic. My only problem is with the scoring since it deducts for mistakes, even mistyping or forgetting to switch to note mode. I just ignore the scoring and enjoy the game!
Nice features. I wish it had some "rewards" as you run up a score. My one complaint is that the phone runs hot when you play the game. I have a feature request. I'd like to see a summary of how many empty squares exist during the game
It's kind of frustrating that it takes you to the menu after every game, rather than starting another one. And even if you finish a puzzle, if you quit from the menu, it gives you the choice to resume, and it just takes you to the final score. Then back to the menu.
Great app. Absolutely love it. The only thing I wish some improvement is difficulty level between medium to hard as medium is rather easy and hard becomes too hard. As an example I solve medium problems in 3 to 5 minutes on average but hard level takes me 20 to 30 minutes to solve. Feels like too much jump on difficulty between those two levels.
Beautiful, but... a space hog. But my real complaint is that there's no option I could find to turn off highlights whenever a number is entered. Annoying and distracting. 5 stars if there was a way to turn that off.
Love almost everything about this. The only critique I have is you have to be careful about the number you press cause if you accidentally press the wrong one it will register as a mistake. If you have unsteady hands or big fingers this may pose a problem.
You have pre feeded the correct answers. So if we put some different digit instead of the correct one, it turns red. And there was no repetitive digit in the particular row or column or box. Kindly fix it. It must turn red only when any digit is repeated in any row or column or box.
I love this app. It is the best sudoku game I've seen. The only issue I have is that I'm used to clicking on the number in the selection row to highlight all instances of the number on the grid, but you have to click on an actual number in the grid to do it here. Ah well, nothing is perfect.
This is one of the best Sudoku game apps I have played. I would like to have the option of resetting the total score though. I also don't like that it counts against you when you accidentally hit the wrong number button. Other than those two issues it's a very good game.
Very nicely made. It tells you when you entered a wrong number so you don't end up wasting time and getting frustrated because of a typo. This option can be turned off if you don't like it.
first of all the 5 stars is a cheat. I was offered more free stuff if I rated it 5 stars so I have. Yes this is a good game but you can cheat your way to success as it tells you if have put a wrong number in so if get stuck you can juat put in numbers until you get the correct one. Which seems rubbish to me. That aside I am glad I got it, it is a good version and gives me an alternative to Patience.
Addictive! First thing I do in the morning is wake up my brain cells with a game of Sudoku. Don't have to worry about a pen or pencil, being bored with the same book, just instant mind challenging entertainment.
Love that you can make notes in blocks. I also like the check option. Some games, on the difficult ones, once you make a single mistake, the puzzle is hopeless. Here, the check feature challenges me to tackle the more difficult ones.
1. Hints are just awesome. Have really learnt from them. Now, kinda addicted to this game 2. Mistakes, don't really enjoy the negative points. Few instances, in order to finish the game for the 'best' time, mistakes are inevitable. Probably, when there is notes written for a particular square, and we type in a wrong number, can highlight with a different color other than red. An awesome game except for the annoying ads.

Love that the hints don't just give you the number. They walk you to the answer step by step, so you can stop after the first step that direct your focus and use as just a nudge in the right direction so you can actually learn and improve your skills. Very aesthetically attractive graphics. Lots of options for layout and features to toggle on and off. Only cons are the number tiles are right next to each other so I sometimes hit the wrong one if I'm not totally centered on the number. Also I wish I could see my top three scores for each category to see how I've improved, instead of just the best.
