Jade Empire: Special Edition

I am surprised to see that Jade Empire is not receiving a high rating similar to the other popular BioWare franchise KOTOR in the Google Play store! I downloaded them and they are both classics in gaming history! Nevertheless, Jade Empire is better looking and the gameplay is more intuitive. It feels more like a more modern RPG game! There are no voice-over bugs in this game and the controls are clunky just like KOTOR on Android. This game is truly epic and it deserves a better rating! I cannot wait so see more upcoming classics from BioWare on Android... Maybe, Neverwinter Knights or perhaps Mass Effect? Just saying... ????

Fantastic game that was not afraid to experiment and take chances. This game was made by a fantastic team. Not sure if a game like this could be made again today under the strict supervision of todays large scale publishers that only want to crunch numbers and tick boxes on a spreadsheet. (Multiplayer - check etc)

Great. As far as a port goes it's well done. This game is one that I'll definitely come back to and I never played it before this port. Definitely better than Andromeda. Edit: with the new os update the game no longer starts up, unfortunate really but what will ya do?

The Good: absolutely top-notch game on the Xbox, nearly as good on a tablet. Graphics are impressive and the load times on my Ellipsis 8 are shorter than on the Xbox original. Massive replayability and just plain enjoyable to play. The Bad: controls are great, not perfect. It will let you spend two hours downloading it just to fail at the end of the download, after you've already paid! Also, I gave Aspyr a whole star off for not allowing the refund button. Makes you look pretty shady.

I remember playing this game when it first came out on the first Xbox wow it was soo much fun I must've beaten the game a good 20 times. And now I'm still playing it this game has never gotten old to me. This game is still, to this day my favorite rpg. Well this game and the mass effect games and the dragon age games. Bioware makes the best RPG games

I like everything about this game except for the difficulty in switching targets, especially in areas like the imperial engagement. Having your target unexpectedly switch in a group battle and be VERY hard to switch back really sucks. Supposedly you can tap a different target and switch, but in reality this only works like one out of five tries. If they would fix that, it's definitely worth the money and five stars.

I love Jade Empire, but unfortunately I've tried to play this version on two devices now and neither have worked. The game doesn't even load on Xperia XZ, and on the Galaxy S8 that I'm now using, it loads fine and seems to play the game no problem, but the screen constantly flickers making it completely unplayable. I've tried tweaking video settings, even going so far as to turn off every single opt optional feature, but the flicker just doesn't stop. Sadly, it's a 1 star for now. If S8 support is ever added, I'll gladly change to a 5 star, because this truly is an amazing game that I would LOVE to play on the go

One of my favourite PC games in its time, the port is solid, but the touch controls render it near-unplayable sometimes. When there are several enemies close to the protagonist, the target lock keeps changing seemingly at random without my conscious input, preventing me from focusing particular foes. Very frustrating.

There is a graphical bug that makes the game look very, very off. Like it's missing pixels or that they're off-colored. It starts at the Title Screen. I can only assume this is because I'm running it on an s8 plus. I spent 10 dollars on this and was really disappointed to see the graphics distorted.

Update: Now that i can play it after discovering my last device was incompatible, even though i could download it... I love it, the transition is impressive. I bought this again after that mishap cause i love this game. Its almost flawless accept the movement is a bit over sensitive. Can the font size be increased? Also does this have controller support?

Great port of what I consider an overlooked masterpiece from BioWare. Mass Effect, Dragon Age and KOTOR rightly are regarded as classics but this game shouldn't be forgotten. Looks lovely, great storyline and dared to be a little different. Yes, there's a slight issue with the touch controls that makes combat a bit tricky (hence only 4 stars) but thats solved if you have a Bluetooth controller. To be fair it was always going to be more difficult to implement given the nature of the game compared to the more turn based nature of KOTOR. Top job folks

Great port, original bugs and glitches still there tho. The glitch where there gaurd stand in your way is still there. An easy fix by changing your video settings before the fight, still annoying tho since it's a known glitch that was in the original game that you guys could have fixed. Also the airship fights are very hard with a touch screen. Overall great game I recommend it

I can't even start the game up without the app closing itself. Lots of flickering of the screen as soon I touch to start the app, click new game and straight after that the app will just close itself. Waste of money. I'm using an s8+

I loved the game but i can't finish it due to the game crashing after the loading screen to the palace. Much sad, very disappoint. I have 80 hours vested into this game going so far as to complete every little side mission only to not be able to finish the game. 0/5 will change my review if the problem is fixed or addressed.

This is the real deal! It's the full Jade Empire game ported, justvas I remembered it! Immersing story, great controls, huge universe. Looking forward for Mass Effect port from the same guys. Check out their port for K.O.T.O.R., too!

It is a great remastered version on the Xbox original classic I remember. The only tiff I have if is due to the touch controls being so weird to get used to since playing so much on the Xbox originally. But there is controller support. So recommend to pick one up.

Graphics flickering and glitches leave this game unplayable on Note8. Guess these will be similar to those reported on S8+. Will update this review if it becomes playable after patches.

I am shocked to how well this game has aged. It's as dun as the day I first picked it up all those years ago. It funny, you have a habit of remastering and rereleasing games that should have had sequels and/or a similar tragic fate. *cough* Kotor *cough* Thank you. You're bringing back the only games I cared about in my childhood.

Totally awesome game, super happy it's been ported. However the controls are very clunky, and controller support is very lacking. Controller support completely removes the area attack as there is no button assigned to it, and when using a ps3 controller it doesn't recognise the d-pad so I cannot change fighting styles. All this limits the game as usually I could play this on a hard difficulty but am limited to a lower difficulty as the controls are so clunky it makes fighting difficult. If these issues, or even just the controller support, where to be amended I would give a 5 star rating as the game itsself is awesome, but the controls leave it very lacking.

PLEASE UPDATE THIS APP TO RESIZE CORRECTLY TO A SAMSUNG GALAXY S8+ AND DEX MODE!! I absolutely loved this game as a child and it never got the recognition it so desperately deserved. It was one the best games Ive ever played and barely anyone knew about. Possibly bad marketing anyway. Anyway I thought I would never be able to play it again after my Xbox crapped out almost a decade ago. I was ecstatic to see this brought back on a phone no less.

Controls are dismal and don't respond consistently. Would like refund if possible. Own the game already on PC and for original Xbox. Can't play on my Note8. Will grab KOTOR instead

I excitedly downloaded this game because it was one of my all time favorite games. However the game won't even open at all so I am unable to play it! Can you please fix this. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this. I will change my review once the game works

This is an awful port of an exceptional game. I thought to myself that I would be able to play this game smoothly on a galaxy s8 but I get weird screen flickering and when I turn buffering effects of everything just lags and is unresponsive, due to that I can't actually rate the gameplay and controls, the graphics are brilliant; it's a shame I couldn't actually play it. Aspyr please fix.

I absolutely loved this game in Xbox and played it over and over. It's almost as good in mobile, though the controls feel a bit clunky. The main flaw is the frequent game crashes which hamper the fun and make you start fights over again all the time. I have an S7 which should be able to handle this, yet I keep having the same issue.

Unfortunately it's unplayable, even if you turn off all visual enhancements, it crashes constantly and I'm not able to even choose a main char. I want to love this port, and I sure do love these Bioware games (played them all long ago on the pc), however at it's current state, playing is impossible. Here's hoping the team will fix these issues.

I'm getting really irritated with Google Play. They give you instructions on how to get a refund. I'm going exactly what they instruct, but no matter what I try this is not an option for me to report a problem or request a refund. This app will not work on my phone even though Google Play tells me that it's compatible. Refund my money back to me!

I originally left a glowing 5 star review. I've returned to knock it down to 1. It's been almost a year since an update and it won't even start on Oreo. I'll come back once we get an update to give a score it deserves.

Runs flawlessly on galaxy s6 edge. So happy to play this game again! Cant wait for KOTOR 2, Mass Effect, and dragon age. wishful thinking lol.

The only problem I'm having is the volume it isn't very loud not sure why I've got to turn the volume up almost all the way. All of my other games the volunteer isn't even half ways up an there loud not to sure why. Other then that it's a great game.

Downloads halfway and gets stuck fake installing on my Galaxy J5 (new version). Won't actually install even after 20 or so minutes.

I cannot run this game on my Pixel C. Starting it shows the Jade Empire banner and then the game crashes. Over and over again.

Thank you for bringing this to mobile. One of my fav games of all time. I gladly just bought it again. Early impressions. Looks great play is smooth. Can't wait to try a new way of playing this time.

Won't start on my htc one a9 says it can run it on your website too very dissapointed I will try to reinstall if it doesn't work I'm refunding it

Good port so far, bit clunky but nothing you wont get used to

I had no idea this had even come out, and I think this would sell a lot better if more people knew about it. This is probably my favorite bioware game of all time and everyone should play through it at least once

When I open my game it unfortunately stops working

Looks better on Android then the original. Only issue is the auto targeting in fights

Will not open. GPD XD android 4.4. KitKat. Will update when fixed. Works on Nexus 6 with Nougat.

Controls a bit difficult while fighting. Other than that, an absolute artistic and technical achievement.

I've just downloaded the game, installed fine and started fine just won't load anything past the title screen. Hoping this can be resolved otherwise I'd be looking for a refund, thanks.
