Smash Up - The Shufflebuilding Game for Android
A great game with a "not so good and useful" interface. My opinion is that the interface is the main issue, not the only problem but the main. I would like to see color change option and roll back my play. For example if I accidentally play a minion on an other base or an action on a wrong minion to simply roll back my play. Can't wait for the expansions to be added.
Was very excited to get this game to play with my family and friends across the country. Installed it and got a few family members as well. Tried to set up a private match but wasn't able to invite any of my family to the private match. I tried to invite friends and when I searched their account names or in game handles, and it returned no results for any of them. We tried to all find each other and add each other for a private match and none of us were able to find each other. Tried going through my account information it had a spot to list 'My buddies' but there was no way to find friends or edit my friends list. I have no use for this app if I cannot play with my friends and family, and we would all like refunds. We were not able to find any help documentation or faqs regarding this.
I've been able to play since the game came out but suddenly I can't connect to the server and as soon as I press play online game it loads for a second and goes back to the main menu. I CAN'T PLAY THE GAME! Would rate 5 stars if the game was playable online.
1. I can't run the tutorial or play as the game constantly crashes. 2. Upon initial install, it says "starting" but fails to do so without restarting the app.
Love the real game and the digital version too. Only issue is there is never anyone to play against. The whole reason for paying for this app was so i could play globally. Very sad.
Been playing the IRL version since it's release. It is always fun, and the app is no different. It had a rocky start with the UI, but the app publisher has shown they are willing to listen to constructive criticism and fix problems at a reasonable pace.
Offline play is fine but while it says you can invite friends, thanks functionality doesn't seem to work at all - my wife and I tried inviting each other, but nothing. Not ideal.
Paid for this and it won't load, stuck on the start screen. Great job on testing your product guys...
I own the card game and this app is fun. Can't wait to see expansions added. Now all I need is munchkin and other table top games added.
I've been waiting for this game in the app store! But the game won't start!
A fantastic game in both physical and digital format, easy to pick up and addictive to play!
Please add ALL expansions
I really like Smash Up, the board game. This does a great job approximating the game in a digital version. My chief complaint is the interface for viewing a large amount of cards at a time. I end up barely sliding back and forth trying to hover over a single card. I also wish there were more expansions in the game. Even 2 player matches with the computer are redundant after a while. Also, I'm not counting off for this but it isn't super clear how many cards the opponent has in their hand. I might be over looking something.
I would rate the game higher, but when I try to make an Asmodee account, it doesn't work even though I know all of my information during the process. It keeps saying that I didn't put the right email or something like that. And it won't send me an email to verify either. Fix this.
I was originally thrilled to see Smash Up get a digital release so that I could play with my fellow long distance table top gamers – this would have been perfect since most of us are too busy these days to get together often – but since release, I've never actually been able to play one game online... Totally frustrating. I've made contact on Twitter with Asmodee and have also emailed Nomad Games about it upon their suggestion, but so far there has been no response support, just waiting. I get that this is was just released, and I absolutely love Smash Up in physical format, but this isn't worth 4.99 to me and it's too late for a refund... I hope it will be ready at some point.
I love this game. I've been waiting for it since it's first announcement. After the update, the cards look bigger and there is an additional option to forbid other player play with same factions with another player. Which is great.
It's good, but at tutorial you got 2 supreme overlord there, usually you only got 1 in alien deck. sometimes the bot only show one faction. And i think it's too unbalanced to put geek faction with the basic deck.
Great online representation of the original game! Need to add more factions though! Also, when the online players are in "In game", it'd be nice if there was an opportunity to see the current score or watch the game.
Updates are helping. Still crashing occasionally after game completion. I'll keep upping my rating as this game improves. Before I was disappointed, now I see potential for a great game.
I love Smash Up, and I'm glad there is an app now. However, there definitely need to be more factions, and the stats are buggy. I have at least 8 wins and it still shows only 1. I love the app and want you to keep improving it!
I was pleasantly surprised by how well you adapted the game to a digital format. I particularly enjoyed the AI on "hard" difficulty, as they used a variety of tactics I hadn't seen before or thought of myself. It's still a tad unstable, I've had maybe 5% of my games crash. The UI is still not perfectly optimized, but aside from those two minor complaints, this is an awesome app. I eagerly anticipate the expansion packs, although, I fully understand that every new faction adds a compounding degree of difficulty for your code writers, so I suspect there may be a substantial wait. Should you need another alpha tester, I volunteer as tribute.
The controls need a bit of work. It's too easy to accidentally take an action when you're trying to read a card. There really should be an "undo" button. The game is a lot of fun though.
There needs to be a way to clear stats. First because they are buggy and the total number of games don't match the numbers when you add up everything else, second because figuring out the game mechanics can make your stats off in the beginning.
Awesomeness
My family and I play smash up every weekend. I own every expansion and look forward to the sheep and all stars coming soon. I think I might of set my expectations to high for this game. Tonight my sister and brother in law sat down to play the app we got 25 mins into the game and it crashed for all of us at the same time. Super disappointing with no way to continue it felt like a huge waste of time. Also while playing earlier I noticed that people could pick the same faction.
This is the Game we have been waiting for. The system works well and it's a great way for players to get into the game and also sharpen your tactics. I'm a little worried about possible expansions simply because I own so many physically i can't justify spending a large amount on them digitally, so I'm hoping they are fairly priced and released within a reasonable amount of time. I also saw a complaint about not being able to skip the tutorial? But I skipped it. The game puts you in a match for the tutorial. All you have to do is quit the match to skip the tutorial. If you play the game IRL then you will be able to figure out the game mechanics very quickly. All-in-all fantastic work guys. Now I can play a game I have fallen in love with anywhere I want.
Well made game. But one hiccup I noticed. When choosing to play an action on a minion, there is no confirm or undo button, so if you accidentally hit a minion next to it, there is no way to correct it. Would highly suggest adding in either a confirm action button or an ability to rewind a card play or two.
This is really good overall. There are two options I'd like to see added though. 1. Make it possible to play an exclusive draft with the AI still choosing its own factions so there aren't multiple of the same faction. 2. Make an option to manipulate the pool of bases available. My group always plays with only the bases from factions in play and so do almost all other groups I've played with.
I love the concept of the moblie version, but the bugz need to be fixed. The game kicks you out mid game and doesn't save the progress ????. Wait to get the game until they fix what is needed.
Controls not well thought through. Need to be able to read cards without hovering over them, and drag and drop makes more sense for this game. I do not enjoy playing this adaptation.
Love the game. Added to but can't play with friends. Their phones saying incompatible device. And they using s7 edge. Don't know what problem is. Would love to be utilizing local Play
Fun game. The different factions play differently and interact with each other in fun ways. Selecting cards and game interrupts can be a pain to deal with. Other than that significant gripe, the game is a winner.
Is there a way to turn off the ability to select duplicate factions? I really hate that... EDIT: It's also frustrating that there's no way to select a card from the zoomed in screen. So if the stack is large, you're guessing what you're clicking on.
I wish I could rate this a zero. I can't even open the app at all. It crashes before I even see the main screen. This is my favorite game and I was so excited to see a digital version but it was a complete waste of money.
Game has some significant bugs, started a game and random cards are already in my discard pile, actions are returning my creatures to my hand on top of their actual effect, etc. The ui is also unforgiving if you misclick when selecting factions. Visually it's amazing, but not what it should be from a game play position.
Very great build. I just hope moving forward that all the new add on factions are free or fairly priced. Love the base sets but once you get to the other sets there are a lot more combos and planning you have to think about. Overall really enjoying the game so far. Keep the Smash up awesomeness coming. #wherearethesheep
Absolutely love the physical game and have been a fan for a long time, so was very excited to see the app had finally been released. However, I found the (mandatory) tutorial awful, especially being forced to use two factions I wouldn't have picked and being forced to play specific cards. There should be an option to skip this, especially as the app keeps crashing and I am forced to play the tutorial on repeat! I'm not keen on the layout of the bases either and feel it should look more like the game would on a table, it doesn't feel intuitive selecting the bases to read their abilities etc.
This is really frustrating. I own the board game and know the rules well, i was very happy to see the app, bought it and... long long tutorial with no skipping option... a buzz kill
Smash up the game is good but the app is not. I usually don't write bad reviews. Suggestions the tutorial is bad. I know how to play and got killed because the AI has a great combos and all I had was action cards. Rez trex from discard pile, I lose again. Also holding down on card to read the card, no. Click on card, read card, click anywhere to close card. It should be drag to play a card. Words scrolling on the card to fast, I have to read the card 3 times. Open card wait 1 or 2 sec, then scroll. By scrolling right away, the first line is already off the screen. Takes forever to open the app and I have S8. After the tutorial the app just stayed at opening art. Had to force close and guess what. When I force closed what was on my screen, the play store refund button. I know I'll get a contact support response, it's a game, got better things to do.

The game simply does not start. It says "Starting..." and stays like that for ages. How do I get a refund? [Asmodee Digital replied - not sure if it will still be displayed afyer editing the comment] From the settings on my phone I do not see any option to give the app storage permission. Storage is simply not a permission I can give, to any app, apparently.
