A Silent Wood for Android
Truly amazing. The sounds are incredible, the game play challenging, and story is great too. Even without any real graphics, I simply can't get enough if this game! Just a thought: More possibilities for endings would be cool.
This game is a good idea with an easy interface, but it has some glitches and the English is a little poor. No capitalization is the main grammatical issue. I have encountered losing my items after quests and having been randomly pulled out of quests even though I had sufficient resources. I don't want to continue to invest time until I am confident that the game will function correctly when going on quests.
Love it. The simplicity of text, but it kept my attention. I'd sit down to play the game for just a little while, then it would be a few hours later before I could put it down.
Nice version of a classic indie game... But the UI is poorly organized. Why keep popping messages /over/ the gather wood & check traps buttons? Prevents me from clicking.
Somehow I became engrossed in a game consisting of an "@" sign, used to show your character moving around the map, and simple resource management at your home base... which is a growing town in some post apocalyptic wasteland. Everything is depicted with plain text but you forget this once you get the hang of the game. It took me 3 hours to finish, and though the English is very odd and clunky, the game is worth a try.
Hi! Great work! However, my phone updated the OS, and my game progress isn't there. It's starts like I haven't played before. Is there a way to find it?
I was immersed into this game until it's dissapointing end. Not sure if it was worth the money when everything I worked for pretty much went unused.
Better UI than the free A Dark Room app, and no ads. I started playing and 40 minutes went by without me realizing. Tons of fun.
At first I thought it wasnt worth the money. But once u get into the middle part of the game, u wont regret buying it
I started with Dark Room and quickly got fed up with the excruciating UI. Then found Silent Wood! Yay! Much more of a complete game with excellent UI and story features. Not sure how many more times I'll play through but the game was very cheap so no big deal there. A credit to the text adventure genre.
A couple of glitches with encounters and such, and a few elements of pacing that felt a little off, but still a very creative take on the survival horror genre. Nicely done.
You can already get A Dark Room for free on android, so I wouldn't bother getting this here to be honest, they say that they have different things but it is still 90% a dark room, saying this game is different is like rewriting harry potter but changing the names of the characters and marketing it as a whole new experience that simply takes inspiration from Harry Potter
This game claims to have nothing to do with the dark room game but it is almost exactly the same game! I can't believe I fell for that! (yes I finished it. Even the message at the end it's the same) just get the original free game "a dark room".
Aside from a few very hokey elements in the story progression, a very entertaining way to explore a narrative. Extremely engaging.
Ever since I'd owned an android I've always looking for a rpg game that would get me hooked and make me actually want to play the game. However to my dismay most of the games on the play store are the same boring thing... Except this one. The game is so simple yet it has so many features and challenges that make you want to complete it. The wording is fantastic and so is everything else. A bit work could be used on the menus to make them less glitchy but I don't mind because the game is exciting. Great game
I have a PlayStation and a 55" TV, Netflix, Hulu, you name it, and I found myself sitting for 6 hours tinkering on my phone playing this game. I would highly recommend trying this little gem out. This game isn't nearly close to what I was expecting it to be the first hour or so in, and it takes quite a turn at some point (several turns, in fact) and has a weirdly unsettling ambiance to it giving the entire experience a suspenseful horror-esque feel to it... 5 out of 5 (first review ever)
So far the game is okay but about 6 hours into it the save button will no longer work. You press it and it hangs saying, "saving please do not shut down". When you go back to the home page and try to save the button does nothing. My progress will not save anymore! I tried clearing app data and cache to fix. Still broken. 3 stars until I can save my game!
Can you include something so at a glance we can see how much cured meat and water we have left when we're out and about adventuring away... keep dying of dehydration. If i could see how much was left I'd know i need to make it to a well. Cheers edit: Ah yes.. silly me, it was there all the time. Thanks. Great game!
This game is amazing. Its really simple seeming, but as you progress, it gets more complex. And weirder. Once you build up your little village, then its a simple roguelike with a city builder. And the whole story...wow.
High praise? Well there are no graphics and what little sound there is, is used to amazing atmospheric effect. But the most incredible thing about this minimal RPG is how you can be drawn in by the most beautifully worded prose, more emersive than any big budget effects. Like a Cormac Mcarthy novel played out in the most grimly addictive way.
I took a chance on this one. After playing the free version, I decided to pay the dollar to play the full version. Although there is a lot of room for improvement (and expansion) , the duration of the game and learning curve was just right. I find that one part I liked was figuring out the non-intuitive mechanics. Finished the game in about 6.5 hours. Do not expect any fancy graphics, expect an indie solo dev caliber rpg with typos. I'd recommend trying out the free version first to have a feel for the game
The game is definitely worth the price, I enjoyed unfolding the mystery behind what was happening but I was ultimately let down by the ending (honestly thought it would take a more interesting direction but it's just a cliche). Another thing which bothered me was the various spelling and grammar mistakes which really shouldn't be on a paid app. One thing I really enjoyed about the app was how the game doesn't hold your hand and often it's up to you to figure out how to achieve certain things. 3.5 stars.
The game is really good so far. I completed A Dark Room on iPad, so i wanted to get something similair to take on the road on my phone. I really like the ui of this game. One thing that REALLY annoys me, however, is the spelling. Please. Check your spelling while developing a game, its pretty unproffesional.
Played this, then looked for the original. This is better for sure. Better balance, few improvements to the story. Amazingly engaging for its simplicity. Loved it!
I cant describe how great this game is in just one review, its simplistic bliss, you don't need fancy graphics for a good game and this is a prime Example.
A good game to relax into. Great sound design: sparse and unsettling.
This game had me hooked right off, I drained my battery 3 times in one day because of this game. It brings me back to the old school days, it's clever, just hard enough to be a challenge. And the amount of content is outstanding.
Well done, solid port of a dark room. English was a little broken, but enhanced the unsettling and unfamiliar affect of the game. Resource mgt could use some work -- see corn -- but overall very well done. Looking forward to original designs by this developer.
I love this game and lose track of time when I play it. My heart pounds and I get so into it. Very fun and different!
I had this game recommended to me as a great rpg. It is not an rpg however. It is an incremental game in the vein of cookie clicker. Yes it has rpg elements that open up after the first bit but this is still very 'incrementaly'. As an incremental game it is very good and every bit as addictive as the best of those are. But if you are looking for a great rpg look elsewhere.
This is one of my favorite chill games that I've ever had, both on my ipad and now my android phone. I highly suggest getting this game if your looking for a fun, short and addictive game.

If you are a fan of text-based games such as Zork or the multitude of MUDs out there, A Silent Wood will be a nostalgia trip. It's definitely worth a play.
So addicting to play. Only problem is it took me roughly 1 day of moderate play and I have everything maxed out. All huts traps and population. Just waiting on farm expansion, wish I had more stuff to build. Dusty path is fun for now I guess
I've played both A Dark Room and A Silent Wood and I must say that I much prefer this game because of the easy interface and wonderful additions you have made. I think your first priority as an improvement would be the grammar and spelling of the game, all lower case letters looks awful! Secondly I noticed that bait doesn't appear in my inventory. Otherwise great game!
Fun little game but I'm a bit confused when it comes to the dusty path.Everytime I go out I encounter same places with same loot. No story progression if I go back to home base the loot I got is not saved is this the limbo I keep hearing about? other than that fun game but I am stuck maybe someone can help me out.
When I installed, I had no idea what this game was…so glad I did, instead of visual imagery I was using my imagination. Never played a game with this idea before, loved it and want more! Very addictive… gets a thumbs up from me! Now… play again with no huts? Thats a challenge lol!
I have never made a better decision in my life. If you are thinking about getting the game... DO IT.
