The stats on the enemy cards are higher on average than those of the friendly cards. Also, there seems to be more negative modifier cards, which benefit the enemies, than those benefitting the friendlies. This may be true to the mythos, but it doesn't make for a game that's playable for most people. This would be a great and possibly popular game for casinos, where losing is par for the course. Otherwise, the art on the cards is very good, and the game play is simple, smooth, and sensible.

It's great to see another Lovecraftian game, my favourite genre :3. I've had fun playing this game but the lack of content (cards, etc.) means the experience gets stale after a while.

Keeps drawing monster cards and negative cards it gets to a point I'm just overwhelmed as well as monsters always seem to get good rolls in fight unless I have the cards kited out with buffs and even then it's not always a sure bet for a win EDIT: tried again multiple times my previous comment stands and I give it 1 star and uninstalled just not fun to get stomped hard every time I try to play

I'm not too certain how the math adds up here. The dice rolls seem to have no affect sometimes, and I'm not certain as to how the defense and sanity counters work, but it's fun enough if I just sling cards around.

You might be able to win with the in app purchase of the Resource Cards type,but it's doubtful.It's a terrible game with crappy draw one play one mechanics.In CoC by Chaosium (and other games),the game will beat the crap out of you.The difference is that you can actually win those games.This should have been play tested more.Just because you're in love with an element of your game does not mean you have to keep it.It's okay to cut it out for the sake of a balanced game.

its fun but the better u get at it the lower your score gets. u need a high score to unlock cards. the faster u win and better u are results in a lower score. so the only way to unlock cards is be a weak player. i bought this on amazon a long time ago, mine is add free. i dont think its on amazon anymore.

I can't say anything about the game play but it simply will not install. I love the idea and used to play a very similar game online but after fully troubleshooting, it must be broken. :(

I really enjoyed this. The games don't take too long and it's different every time. Good sound effects and artwork.

This game is simple, that much is true. However, the way it works out is not quite so simple. The combined aspects of chance and strategy makes for an interesting play. High scores and achievements are rewarded with additional cards so you don't have to spend to win. Kudos to the dev team. Unlike any card game app I've found. m/

Add for an app runs every time you open it, and you have to click yes/no, just in case you want to install random garbage on yr phone. I'll keep it on my phone for a bit too see if they fix it, but when I need space it's getting deleted.

I love the game. Simple to begin with but interesting to work out strategies. Good graphics, nice soundtrack. Two things @ developper: give us the possibility to get rid of adds, I'd like even to pay to get lost of them. Really destroying the athmosphere! And 2nd: hurry with updates, we're longing for...

Mechanic is well made and arts are pretty climatic. First few games are really difficult, but you'll eventually unlock few cards more, so later its a bit easier. Only downsides are lack of cards gallery and somehow chaotic tutorial.

I liked it. I was expecting more of an adventure involved, like a sort of interactive novel where cards created corridors and events, and less card fighting, but I enjoyed what it was. Monsters seem to always get the upper hand. I couldn't really enjoy it until I accepted that my little humans were all on suicide missions and that there were no happy endings. I had to create my own story. Neat art. The music doesn't repeat smoothly. Card descriptions when tapped would have been nice. Had to experiment.

As a fan of all things Lovecraftian from way back, I was DOOMED like the city of Sarnath to enjoy this game. (Bit of a stretch for a HPL reference there) Ive been playing this off and on a couple years but it seemed rather incomplete. The update fixes this by adding new elements of strategy to liven things up. Commenters are complaining about the game having a luck factor. I say: You ever played CARDS? Even Go Fish is based on luck of the draw. At least this game has modifiers to slant things your way.

Was very excited by this, with its moody theme and potential for lunchtime paranormal struggles! Stunning artwork and clever core mechanics, but the game tends to veer sharply towards a one-sided affair on every playthrough. Either the deck lets you supercharge your investigators from the start and destroy everything or (far more likely) the denizens of darkness get a foothold on the play area and murder every single card you place from the beginning. The tension and atmosphere suffer as a result.

Basically a turn-based, card game hybrid with dice-rolled combat and RPG elements. Vaguely similar to the Elder Sign table top game. Also features progression in the form of new card unlocks rewarded after each win. Includes a tutorial, as well. The game mechanics are fairly straightforward but the ability to level up your Investigators is where the game gets interesting, with lots of different card interactions. Anyway, if you're an HP Lovecraft fan looking for a turn-based solo game, check this one out!

Good one. True, it requires good luck and takes some victories to unlock all cards (still haven't done it). Try it and you may like it :3

It's taking some time to understand and there is a slightly confusing over explained tutorial involved. But well worth playing.

Please fix the core expansion I like the game and downloaded it on two phones its not downloading on both phones with very good internet reseption.

Random generation makes the game interesting, but not impossible. I'd like to see some expansion, and a few new cards.

Not too easy . There is more strategy than you 1st think and I love the images.

This game is not bad at all , great job all round , I would love to see more card packs in play and would be more than happy to pay for them.
