About Timeline
Timeline is both a tool and a game. As a tool it allows its users to create “timelines” which are decks of cards with a subject matter on one side and a numerical value on the other side that determines its place on the timeline by making it less or greater than some other cards on the timeline. The user can then upload his timeline to a server where other people can download it from. The game lets users play against each other in an all vs match from two to four players where each player is dealt a number of cards from the timeline deck. The user only sees the front side of his cards but not the side that has its numerical value. One card is then placed in the middle showing its numerical value. The first player then has to play one of his cards before or after that card meaning that he has to state that his cards numerical value is greater or lesser than the card in play. He then flips his card showing its numerical value. If he is incorrect the card goes to the discard pile and the player draws a new card. If correct the card gets added to the timeline and the player does not draw a new card. Then the next player has to place one of his cards before, in the middle or after the two cards in play unless the first player placed his card incorrectly then there is still only one card in play. The game continues like this until one player has no more cards and has thus won the game. If however two players finish all their cards at the same turn the game turns to sudden death where each player draw one card and has to add it to the timeline until one emerges as the winner based on the prior rules. The game lends itself well to teach history, basic math or anything else that can be arranged in a lesser or greater than manner.
