Sarmad the Adventurer

With 10 exciting levels, this game has been developed to engage users to learn about the importance of protecting local Heritage from the trafficking and looting of cultural objects, while providing key information about Iraqi Heritage.

‘Sarmad The Adventurer’ follows hero Sarmad, a young Iraqi boy, as he chases down thieves trying to steal antiquities. With each treasure saved in the game, is unlocked precious information about Iraqi cultural objects. Also, each stage of the game features Iraqi archeological sites, such as Erbil Citadel, Nimrud, Sāmarrā, Hatra, Ashur and Qal'at Sherqa.

This game is a result of the collaboration between the UNESCO Iraq Office in cooperation with the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage of Iraq, with the generous support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This app is available in English and Arabic.
