MEGATROID for Android
It's cool, but I'd like to have levels so there is some feeling of progress in the game. This is nicely designed, tho I don't know what's going on half the time. Just trial and error as far as where to go, what to shoot and what to collect. And the weirdness about typing in an address, huh? It's basically a cooler temple run, where you're not really getting anywhere.
You could play this game forever on its own. But the story is kind of dead. You can only go so far. When I first downloaded this in 2012 it was new and exciting. Almost 5 years later, no updates or anything. Kind of disappointed such an interesting project fell into obscurity.
I purchased some space credits, the one for 380 of them for $27 and while it was saying that it was processing all of the sudden it said "payment canceled." The money is gone from my account but I have no space bucks...please either put them on my account or I need a refund. Will rate 5 stars when this is resolved because I like the game.
My exp has came to a stop just before I reach level 5 no matter how many random levels l complete. Is this normal? Or do I have to complete the 1st face boss for the final time before it will go up? I need answers please.
It's an Ok Game But It's Very Laggy. Sometimes The Enemy Dies But He Doesn't Disintegrate And I Can't Move Pass him. The Platforms Are VERY Glitchy. They Dissappear And sometimes I just Fall Right Through. There are many more Glitches but it's still Fun.
Started off very unstable. Device froze twice, and had to remove battery to recover. Its stable now and quite addicting. Would appreciate dash and charge attacks. Also, hali needs to make a sound or flash when she's hit.
There are good games, there are great games and then there is this master piece of a game . The graphics are wonderful the sound effects and music just add to that. I haven't encountered any bugs. But there is one problem it needs to be updated more weapons more levels more bosses.
Megatroid is a very good 2D platformer. Especially good as a mobile platformer. There aren't many of those as touch controls just aren't as responsive as a classic controller, but this game has a decent control scheme and graphics, the music is well done too and reminds me of the Mega Man franchise. The main character is a shameless rip off of Samus Aran, but thats okay. Because all of these elements come together to create a truly enjoyable experience. Fans of Metroid and Mega Man should enjoy this.
First off, thanks! You made my dad a video game for his birthday that he likes. He's about to be 85. He has not so secretly missed metroid platformers for awhile (no fun when you know where to go). Now I can go off the hook about your exceptional controls and your really well done pseudo old school graphics. And mind you I am impressed. More impressed that my dad can run around with his giant fingers no problem. Nice. I, myself hope it isn't to easily beaten. I don't normally game on my phone and my tiny motorola is indeed little, but this IS playable on a phone (if I take the case off). GREAT JOB GUYS!
Even the name is a blatant grab for fans of franchises it has nothing to do with. Megaman + Metroid = Megatroid, but that's where the similarities end. Perhaps if it had tried to fly on its own without drawing the blatant comparison, i'd have liked it better. Games like this first and foremost need to be responsive to user inputs, and this one is not. Your character feels like you're using a 20 year old infrared remote control to make it do what you want, and it just doesn't feel good.
This game is really really good to my surprise. Runs really smooth and graphics are pretty cool. However i would like to request the developers to add the ability to carry atleast 2 weapons simultaneously like a grenade launcher and gun and switch between them with the push of a button. Also it takes a lot of time to level up for a boss fight. Other than that i've been really njoying playing this game.
The game is easy to get used to, controls respond great, and plenty of levels and upgrades to make it last long being fun and interesting! The suck part is not being able to sell old weapons. Even for 20% of what u paid for in the game money would be good too. Best part is no ads! So I'm really happy with it. Just as you play and level up it's harder to get new weapons and junk. So be smart about what u get.
Very good gameplay, I love the game-generated levels as much as I loved the boss stages! Though what would make the game fantastic would be online multiplayer like deathmatches, Cooperative, trading, etc... of course I am not asking you to do it, but I'm just suggesting. But either way, the game is amazing. Keep up the good work, and make sure to advertise the application to get more users!
If you like Super Metroid or Castlevania (Meteoidvania) then fans of those games are in for a treat. Megatroid pays homage to these seminal 16Bit classics, with aplomb. With Platforms a plenty, Shooting, Boss Battles & an Up-Grade system that's well impliment; not to mention customisable controls for Phones & Tablets. Megatroid may just well be the finest of it's Genre. 5 Stars!!
great 2D-like platformer. Oldschool style in new graphics. Who liked a Contra on nes will like it too. Built in levels generator creates a new structure of each next level. Best cellphone game ever. Xperia play's joysticks are fully supported. i complete the game, two last bosses are difficult as on old consoles :) Even with hardware joysticks. Enjoy this. I hope next part will released.
Just download this wanting a Megaman type game feeling. booty this app on my smartphone and very impressed great graphics great controls great sound no lag. I will say I am disappointed that the whole shop store on the game is not supported anymore. other than that I would give it a perfect 5 if it wasn't for that.
Originally searched for a game similar to Super Metroid and this popped up. Downloaded it and was really impressed. I play this game for hours. It has a really good Metroid feel and the ability to upgrade your character with better weapons and unique armor that fits your play style make it a really good find. Definitely worth the download and really looking forward to the 3rd chapter!!
This game is one of the best titles I have tried out on my Nexus 7 yet. The graphics are really good, the customizable controls are nice, and I enjoy trying to purchase new weapons and armor while exploring the variety of stages and expanding range of level and enemy types. There is some repetition in certain stage elements, but the overall level layouts are varied enough that it doesn't get old. I do wish there was a way to aim in more directions than just left and right, but I guess that's a minor complaint. I would heavily recommend this game to anybody looking for a good Metroid/Megaman-inspired platformer.
The game has truly strong potential to build on. Bringing back the memories of good old megaman metroid. Both challenging and diversity. Apart from some plot and design improvements. Switch it to hard mode the game drastically changes. Alot more challenging. Boss fight are kinda easy hope chapter 3 brings something new. =)
Game is more like Megaman, Very Little resemblance to Metroid (female hero, shoot door to exit, 's'bout it: sorry), Great Game otherwise. But (always a but...), don'tcha want money? Tried to buy the premium bucks, won't tell cash price, and never finishes processing payment. Fix for six stars?
I am what I'd call a "core gamer." I'm of the belief that shallow mobile games are rarely entertaining, instead seeking out deeper, more challenging experiences. In my search for fun core games I found Megatroid, which piqued my interest because it was a procedurally-generated action-platformer. I certainly was not disappointed. This game has actually gotten me to play traditional handhelds a bit less than I normally have, because while the gameplay DOES get repetitive, all games get that way. The graphics are quite good, the action is fluid and smooth, and the procedurally-generated levels never play the same way twice. I HIGHLY recommend this game to anybody looking for a Megaman-style platformer.
This is a really great game in the vein of the old Megaman and Metroid series (as the name suggests). It's fun, has competent controls, and it doesn't use the free to play model to rip off players like Spiral Knights. However, the game feels rather drawn out. Getting experience is really slow, which would be fine except the levels don't introduce any new aspect of the game, just more platforms and enemies. Considering adding mini bosses and make leveling up faster.
Edit: I forgot there was a hardcore mode. Definitely harder now. I had doubts at first, but this turned out to be awesome! It's like a megaman/metroid combination with the PS1 classic Pandemonium thrown into the mix. Fantastic game! Makes me feel like a little kid again! I wish it was a little harder though.
This game definitely surprised me with the quality and amount addictive game play. They picked the perfect name because it like Metroid and Megaman in one. The game is addictive and totally enjoyable. You can't be the price, this game is worth your time. I'm a hard core gamer and can say this is a must have.
This game is pretty great. You have a virtually unlimited number of levels to play because it generates them using a seed you provide (think Minecraft). My only complaint is that there needs to be more music. The music in the game already is awesome, it's just repetitive after you've played 3 levels. Other than that, fantastic platformer with very responsive controls. Highly recommended.
The game really gives you the megaman-metroid feel with alot of twists! Lots of fun to pass the time with good grafics and sound. However i would like to shoot up. I know the little drone helps with enemies above you but... i still would like too, either that or duck! :)
The game looks great. It plays well. Controls are easily configured. And there's a hard mode which introduces a whole new set of more challenging obstacles. It does get a little repetitive, despite the randomization. But each level only takes a few minutes, so it's very easy to just pick it up for a quick break.
Its a cross between two of my favourite games. Developers need to hurry up and make the other chapters. Its long over due. Also I can't seem to buy any space bucks. It just says processing purchase and stay there on the screen till God knows when. So I end up cancelling the purchase. Please fix
Definitely five Stars, except one small bug, when I land directly on top of a vertical wall of death spikes I just stand there like it was a normal platform... Not that I'm complaining ;-) It would also be nice to be able to switch weapons ingame. @Ethan, you can destroy banshees, its just real hard.
I admit, I didn't expect much at first (years of terrible games in the app store will do it to ya!). But I quickly became addicted. Beat the game in about 15 hours without any in-app purchases. Will likely spend when chapter 3 comes out, just to support the devs. Very addicting. Graphics are a huge plus as well. Controls are simple and easy to get accustomed to. The second-to-last boss (tohran?) is hard as hell. It'll take about 30 lives to do it. Dash ability & more enemy variety in the future?
I come back after dropping this game for almost 2 years. Nothing has changed. We still need the "Restore Purchases" option, still need more chapters. Seriously, having to rebuy all of my stuff for the third time, it's BS. And it isn't happening. I guess it's time to retire this one. It was fun, I guess.
Ya played Metroid? Well it's this game in its sidescrolling style but works on a randomizer. I like it, but it hasn't one thing that is necessery if you rip off Metroid: shooting in more then two directions. Hope you add it one day. For now 4 stars. Great game!
My exp has came to a stop just before I reach level 5 no matter how many random levels l complete. Is this normal? Or do I have to complete the 1st face boss for the final time before it will go up? I need answers please.
Normally hate platformers, but this is an exception. Was immediately impressed by the style and accessibility of this game (thank you for customisable controls!) - it's addictively fun even if you don't like platform games. The level generation system offers endless replay value and the gear selection really got me hooked. The Hali and her sidekick are also pretty cool. One annoyance though is that there seems no way of disposing of obsolete gear, resulting in an increasingly cluttered inventory - really needs an option to sell old gear.
Megatroid is fun and has a ton of value and quality for a free game. The graphics are very good and semi 3D. Gameplay is fluid and the controls are responsive. The button layout is 100% customizable. Bosses are simple but can take and deal a bunch of damage. Megatroid never seems unfair and when you die it's your fault. This game is now a few years old and hasn't been updated in a while. It runs stably and the random level generation allows for great replay value, I just wish chapter 3 would come out.
great work! I love playing this game. Although the levels are hardly same, I can see some repetitions but with randomly placed enemies and credits, it is tolerable. Great bosses ai , I suggest adding boss which simply chases hali around but can kill her in single attack. I hope there are better way to gain spacebucks, static enemies, and more level variation in next chapter.
This solid sidescroller has both well-designed boss levels and apparently infinite randomly generated levels to play. Levelling up happens at a good pace - just rare enough to be exciting. This was an early "freemium" game, and the creators definitely erred on the side of playability. I've never spent a dime, and never felt stuck. The annoying parts of other free games are conspicuously absent, and gameplay is engaging. You'll enjoy this.
Definitely worth my while to beat it. Took some time like a real adventure game should. Final boss wasn't very rewarding, however. 1) We need a reward for killing banshees. They're hard enough as it is. 2) However strong a robot is should determine the amount of credit you deserve for killing it. 3) Should get bonus points for finishing a level quickly and not losing any health. 4) Should be a difficulty between hardcore and casual.
The game is fun but the buying credits or space bucks option doesn't work I wanted to support the devs and get a little boost in return but literally the one feature you would think they would want to work doesn't. It never opens up the Google play thing to make the purchase just sits there LG V10
