Play with a bunch of fun themes and race to earn stars and beat your best time! Note Rush is great for teaching keyboard geography by making sure each note is played in the correct octave. An indispensable music theory must-have for learning sight reading at all levels of music education.

Listens to Your Instrument
------------------------------
Note Rush helps students learn a strong association between notes on the page and keys on your instrument by using your device's microphone to detect when you play each note. Works with pianos, keyboards, flutes, violins, you name it! (See Q&A below for more about supported instruments.)

Student-paced
------------------
Note Rush goes as fast or as slow as the student with no time limits, so is suitable for complete beginners right through to being a fun challenge for professionals!

Grand Staff Context
-----------------------
The whole grand staff is always visible, showing each note in full context and helping students learn how notes are spaced out across the two staves.

Octave-Sensitive Keyboard Geography
---------------------------------------------
It's a "B", but which "B"?? Note Rush teaches keyboard geography by making sure you're getting the note in the right octave every time.

Great for Home Practise
------------------------------
Students will rush to their instrument at home every day with NoteRush, chasing that elusive high score! Unlike flashcards, children can drill note identification at home with no music-reading parent required to check if they're getting them correct - Note Rush checks for you! Play every day and you'll soon be able to name and identify notes instantly!

Levels
-------
Note Rush has fifteen built-in Levels, from Middle C-Position right through to the full grand staff with 2 ledger lines above and below. There are Levels for Treble Clef, Bass Clef or full Grand Staff! Or make your own levels to practise reading specific notes, with sharps and flats for an added challenge!

Better Than Flash Cards!
-------------------------
Use Note Rush instead of printed flash cards! Note Rush was designed to replace the cards used in One Minute Club - a challenge you can run in your studio where students have to complete a given level in under a minute. Give it a try!

An app that uses the mic to analyse which note is being played was exactly what I was after. Unfortunately, notes higher than the C above middle C don't get recognised very well. I have to hold the phone over the speaker on my digital piano to get it to tick off the note. Volume is already set pretty high and the room is quiet.

M70%
by M####:

I really wanted to use this game with my violin students but it freezes on random notes even when played correctly on smaller violins even eqipped a mic. Echoing a past reviewer it is particularly tricky with A.

M70%
by M####:

Gets stuck a lot, and over time I've noticed the A is the one that causes the problem. Definitely not worth the money.

P70%
by P####:

This helping me gain and understand note location with no embaresment thank u from my heart

M70%
by M####:

For those who are complaining about it skipping notes, or not recognizing incorrect notes, keep in mind your microphone picks up all sound around you. So play this in a quiet room and it works great. It doesn't teach songs, it teaches note reading, so it uses all notes in a random order. My piano students love it, and we do awards for the various levels

K70%
by K####:

Can believe they want money for such a terrible app. There is nothing special about this it. Get stuck very often, shows you just one note at time. Come on guys spend a bit more time working on this app. What about if you show whole song that we would have to play or something like that.

M70%
by M####:

Excelent app, perfect for practicing sight reading on an actual piano using this app. You will definatly see improvements.

Z70%
by Z####:

Nice idea but in practice it seems to get stuck on certain notes every time (as in, I am playing the correct note but it doesn't recognise it). Also, sometimes it marks the wrong notes as correct or skips ahead before I've had time to play anything. I'm a teacher and am reluctant to recommend it to pupils whilst these problems exist.

M70%
by M####:

why does the new version require permission to the camera? also, it would be nice if there was an option to have the bites go in a loop instead of ending after a few notes. also, if the notes were real tunes and not just random notes, the app would be much more fun

M70%
by M####:

When playing the ledger lines the high A dings like it's correct but no note was played. Also it would be nice if when I note was played wrong it would turn red and if kids could earn fun little rewards. Also my kids get 3 stars because they can play fast and make fast corrections but they make mistakes. It would be nice if the stars correlated to the amount of correct notes played the first time. If you could add intervals that would be amazing even if it was a separate app. Over all this app makes my kids eager to practice but a few tweeks and adds would make it more worth $5 Edit** I didn't realize that it only highlighted one star until I read you response , that was a mistake, it ment to say I do like that app and it was ment to be four stars. I have fixed that!

This is awesome. This needs a choice where you are able to select which notes to show on the staff and be able to save that as a selection. I use this with students and would love to challenge them to learn specific notes. Also being able to select only 2 to 3 notes at a time would enable early readers to use the app more. I have done this with students by playing the notes that they haven't learned yet for them and having them do the ones they are currently learning.

I just downloaded it after watching your video about the new customization mode. I'm really excited about this app! There is so much potential here! I wish there was a mode that showed the letter names as the notes appear. This would be helpful for beginners who need reinforcement on the names of the keys. After they get a certain number of notes correct, the letters could stop appearing. Just an idea. I hope you will keep developing this great learning tool!

Great App for Learning to read notes and verifying that you are playing the correct note on an instrument. I Just Started learning the Saxophone and this App has help me make fast progress of learning the note names and playing the correct note. it is geared for younger Children But this old Guy Finds it works Just fine :) A new feature Request: Currently it does more of a short times test and repeating it lets you see the improvement in time. But it would be nice to have a Practice Mode where you could pick the level and have it run continuously and maybe during this mode instead of watching your total speed it could tell you how many errors you had in the last 60 seconds. this would be a big help as you would not need to keep restarting to practice mode so you could really work on the notes you were trying to learn. Thanks For making this App.

Awesome app! Two requests: 1) an alto cleff version 2) a mode for typing in note names instead of playing

C70%
by C####:

Exactly what I was looking for but a few improvements could be made. Each level could use an infinite practice mode where it keeps generating random notes until you want to quit. Would rate 5 stars for that update

Encourages grand staff speed and correlates to exact pitches on the keyboard! Cold reading pitches like this is the secret to great literacy!

It's a MUST DOWNLOAD APP! ????????????????????????????????????????????

Despite all my permissions being given, all updates received and phone volume turned up to the max, students using this app with me have to constantly play middle C at least a dozen times before we can actually start the game. Once we do get started, the student needs to play some notes multiple times and begins to play with bad form as they are literally bashing notes out of frustration. Please don't send me to your FAQs because it has not helped.

Love this app! Found out about it from Susan Paradis. I use it during students lessons and have them download it at home too. I feel that it has helped the students improve not only in note reading, but also the geography. My students wish there was more choices of themes. We also use it for voice lessons too!! Have had a few students request sharps and flats.

Excellent app! I'm a piano teacher, and I use it in lessons with at least one student each day, if not more. It's reasonably priced and very easy to use, so I've recommended it to a few my students as well. The graphics are very attractive, and the app functions well with one exception: sometimes, the app thinks a note has been played when one hasn't been. I hope that this app continues to be developed. Would love to see more options for different note combinations.

Great so far. Works fine with a digital piano by patching line out to the microphone input of my tablet for silent practice. Looking forward to upcoming features, endless mode, etc.

Use it virtually every day with my students. Does exactly what I need - motivates students to practice notes. Any chance of a teacher version where you can track each of your pupils' speeds, make leader boards, make custom ranges for individual students, etc.?

Thank you for making this available on Android. It is the first app I've ever actually purchased! I can tell already it will really help my students - it's quite revealing to them how much they guess at bass clef at first - and they love it. I especially appreciate that I can customize for each student; treble clef only, bass clef only, grand staff, partial staff, ledger lines, etc.

Lots of time i need to play the chord on my piano 5 and 6 times until the app identifies the note...

Great app! MUCH more fun than flash cards. One suggestion: add an option for alto cleff for viola students to use.
