Paladins: Text Adventure RPG for Android
Good decent story, as expected of delight games. Howewver, one that has played one of delight games interractive novel must have realized by now that that the choices given doesn't shaped the story. It merely determined short term outcomes that affect your short term stats and final score, which is important to get lucks and points. If anything, it is simply a digital book with the opportunity to unlock the next chapter for free through good decision. Which by the way since its repeatable again and again you can try everything. Besides, you still can simply watched videos if youre lazy. All things considered this is a good app for anyone that simply want a good story, which is why people play these sort of stuff anyway.
The game was great up until the halfway point. For some reason you don't earn luck over time.. 50% of the way through you run out. If you buy luck you can play a chapter for a dollar [do not do this its a total ripoff] or watch limited vids that give you a point of luck. Basically i am gonna have to watch a vid a day and play a chapter a week if i want to continue for free. The game and story was great up until then. Sadly i will not be playing games from this developer again. Sucks getting sucked into a story and not being able to finish it. What will happen with jerico and darius? Will he betray him? The citadel, the leader of leaders? I guess i will never know.
I was a little skeptical, since a lot of text based rpgs fall flat, but this one has a strong story that makes sense. Give it a try!
Overall a great game/story. Only problem I have is the inability to spend the points I've gained... What's the point (pun intended) in giving them to me if I can't use them?
The story is really compelling. not sure which character I am really gunning for since they all have such great reasons to do the things they do. I like that I can keep going as well without having to purchase anything. I don't mind a few ads here and there as long as I get to keep playing every day
Great game, good for the night time, because the black background is a golden idea!, way easier on the eyes Update : excellent book/game I just wish that the author set up a coinbase account so people can pay him using bitcoin, ether or any other crypto, because when you are outside of USA, its really hard to pay for the book even if I wanted to. So I was force to read the game earning luck from videos. But enjoyed so much this, that is was worthy
I loved this game. It's story is very well written and captivating. The plot is linear because of the scoring system, but I think of that as a unique element never seen in this format. Can't wait for the rest of the of the books!
I like text based adventures, and this one is original and interesting. But... You can't finish the game without paying. Sooner or later you run out of luck, and you have to use real money to unlock the rest of the story
The choices don't actually matter, the game is actually quite linear. Plus trying to guess what choices the author thought are best gets annoying after sometime. Add the luck system to that and it becomes a slog. Good story though.
Ultimately I don't think the choices you make are very impactful to the overall story, but it was still a fun way to read the novel and helps the reader sympathize and understand the characters. Wort definitely worth your time!
It's amazing, but it hasn't been updated in half a year. I've finished both books twice and have every single one of the achievements. I could appreciate part 3. Reply: wow, thanks for replying! David Daglish is an amazing author and DG's transformation makes his books 10x better. I can't wait for the update. You guys are the best <3
Pretty good. I'd like to know whether Paladins is included in the premium app with 40+ novels. I'm thinking about paying for all of them if paladins is included.
Cool story line. A shame the luck runs out so quick, stopping the game play dead in it's track's.
I'm in love with this story! ???? It makes me want to read the original books the app was based on. The short chapters make it easier for me to replay them over and over and try to get a perfect score, which is rare for me when it comes to CYOA stories. I'm completely hooked on the plot and characters. It's a simple premise, but very well written and very compelling, and I can't get enough of it. Congratulations to Mr. Dalglish and everyone involved in the making of this amazing app ????
You don't need to buy luck. Be patient and enjoy the book for what it is. Good buildup through the characters and I am interested to continue into the second interactive novel. Definitely interested into some other selection of novels as well. Try perfecting the chapters before you move on...
The story is OK, but the choices are pretty meaningless. And you run out of luck pretty quick.
Great game, fun story. Having to earn luck is annoying, but ultimately makes a more thorough experience.
Great game. Catches my interests perfectly. Wished the ads would come quicker though, but I had played for hours, so I guess I can't complain XD
Should not give us the option of redoing the chapter unless dead. Or not even then!
You're stuck once you make your first decision.
Fun game really love the narrative and choices
Good up until you run out of luck and paywall
Any news on if there'll be a third book and when? I've been anticipating it for months and just wondering if there even is a third book
Best book I have ever read. I would recommend adding some music into different chapters. Music that relates to the mood
I love this. Darius chapters are the best ones the most challenging for the high scores.
Excellent click choice story telling no real impact of story tree but still a good tale
The writing creates a persona that you act through, rather than just a brick that can move along events
Great concept. Almost like an old school RPG. I would be interested in a more DnD style of storytelling and character development.
Another great interactive fiction from Delight games. I can't wait to see what else they have to offer.
Loving it, 6 chapters in. No luck issue if you get them from ads from the start.
Amazing in depth story Love that you play all characters Please make more games like this
Very entertaining, and the writing is also pretty good. Would recommend to fans of fantasy or cyoa genres.
Love it wish you didn't have to spend luck to get more chapters disrupts the flow
Descriptive and thought provoking. A dark edge to parody any other time. I recommend it
Really liked the storyline. Dont like having to stop to build points to move on.
This is truly a great story, I'm so captivated by it. I'm definitely a fan of the author
Need interactive cutscenes with death scenes for more realistic approach.
Honestly I was hooked with every chapter, it was just great! Loved playing as redclaw!
Fun game although it is hard to progress really far without the rewarded videos.

Everything I ever wanted in a choose your own adventure book from back in the day! Good writing, realistic choices complete with moral dillemas, you can replay chapters to try different choices, and best of all, the results of ones choices follow logically from the information presented. Back in the day with the choose your own adventure books, the results of your choices were so random, I felt no power in being able to figure out the right choices. This story is immediately immersive. It put me clearly in the center of the hero's mindset, making me feel like it is really me making the decisions. I find myself really deliberating on each choice, hopeing I am getting it right. And it is so satisfying when I do get it right, & the text in the story then seamlessly explains what was right or wrong in the choice. Really great. Love the illustrations, too.
