Unreal Match 3 for Android
The idea sounds great, but I can't get past the loading screen... It simply crashes. Please fix!
Unreal Match 3 is designed as a sample project for developers to look and learn from, and this release showcases the finished game. As for the game itself, it's a simple Match 3 game, with some unique mechanics like unmatchable blocks and bombs that can explode gems on the screen. Overall it's a not bad game when played, and offers a significant help to Unreal Engine developers making their own game with the full project being available to view.
It could be even better if you could share source code or provide tutorials how you made it ;-)
Love it i got the 4th place in all time
This does a great job of exposing Android Framework and Life-Cycle Management to game developers using Unreal Engine. It really makes Unreal Engine worth considering for Android.
Always crushing on my device
Game works perfectly on Sony Xperia S
This is a basic puzzle game for your phone. What makes this amazing is that you can download the free UE4 engine and open this project and take it apart and learn how to handle in app purchases and achievements and the like. On your phone, it'll always be a puzzle game, but as a wannabe game developer this kind of stuff is invaluable.
I get it's a sample to show how this game can be made in UE4, but the aesthetic clashing is hard to ignore from a company with your reputation. Mostly 2D assets but a 3D background that doesn't match the 2D assets or 3D character, menu screen UI elements are noticeably reused from the match screen (ugly and blown up), but UI buttons don't feel consistent with the gems/wood and the "bomb bar" effect doesn't feel consistent with gem/bomb effects. Gems/gem effects look good, though, and it plays fairly smooth.
Fun game sure but how does this teach me how to make games with unreal 4
I know the game makes a capable starter for Unreal C++, but its terrible to see the quality of assets used in the game considering the reputation of Epic. Game plays smoothly but feels kinda broken. Epic needs to start taking mobile games seriously else may end up losing its consumer base. Meanwhile Infinity Blade stays away from Android.
Excellent resource. Great to see not only the source project available, but that it has been taken through to a published title with achievements, leaderboards, etc. integrated. Everything someone starting out would need to realise their own title.
Thank-you for this resource! So much to dig through! I am hoping they will release detailed supplement videos explaining each element of creation as the team has on other unreal training projects.
Black screen on Galaxy S5 with CM 12.
Great tool for learning and fun

The best match 3 game I've seen in this store. And it's merely supposed to be a learning resource! That should tell you something about the pathetic state of the mobile games industry. Why do I love it? No paying for gameplay advantages! Leaderboards! Those two things are all I want and no other company delivers.
