Quadcopter FX Simulator for Android
Although I don't have much experience of flying a drone but this simulator really feels world like.. I cam to know how the joysticks of a real quad copter are and what the left and right ones indicate.. The physics applied too is very real like.. Also, though I have run this in a single scene gotten free with download, I still am not bored after flying for 2 weeks.. though when I bought a toy drone, I cam to know about some more jargons in drone flying but this simulator is good trainer
Those that rate low don't seem to understand that the greatness in this game is simply being able to fly a remote control drone taking little challenges if you'd like along the way. Great simulator. The physics behind this is outstanding. I haven't yet tried it with the vr goggles. I can imagine it being that much better.
Love the idea but very hard to control by just sliding your fingers around on a glass screen. Pretty much impossible to adjust collective without swinging the yaw around (and the yaw seems ridiculously sensitive?) Desperately needs a PC version for use with a USB gamepad
Good physics engine in this app. I like that it is made to help you learn to fly a drone, and not a silly flight sim for gaming. That being said, the "challenge" modes could have a few more challenges in there. And it would be a 5 star app in my book if the "view from ground" (pilot's perspective) had an in-window display which showed the FPS of the drone (DEVs take note!!!). That would make for a more realistic mode in non-VR drone flight practice.
I'm impressed with the physics, it was actually much better than I expected. I don't give reviews often but this app deserves something to be said about it. It's impressively realistic. Only 4 stars because it could have more challenges and the maps could look better and have a bit more to them, but as a simulator, I really don't think they could have done a better job! Nice work guys!
Nice sim, but having issues mapping controls to my Moga controller. By that I mean it doesn't work at all, but also I can't map any controls to it. Can't interact with the onscreen options when trying to do so. Good sim otherwise. Hope you do well with it dev!
Glad I grabbed this. Have a sport quad coming think I would be more aggressive flying it than I will after experimenting with this. Would definitely recommend this app to anyone thinking of picking up their 1st quad or just brush up on skills. Should have given this a 5 but wont
I don't know what to say about it. Its jut wow. When i bought my syma x8g on ebay n had to wait 12 days to arrive. Meanwhile this kept me busy and without it my drone would of be crashed right now.
I love the way the environment is set at and R.T.L. is a pretty good handy landing autopilot. But I'm confused, where are the yellow rectangles?? Are they invisible?? Cause I don't see any yellow rectangles. Fix the glitch please
lol guy wants you to program sticks hahaha, anyways great program. yes yaw should have a dead zone. I flew up and landed on top of building. is pretty good to learn stick control.
Very nice quad-copter drone simulation. Does indeed let you practice some basic principles of real drone flying. Impressive controller configuration...and using a controller makes a huge difference in degree of realism. Let's face it flat glass screen are just not tactile enough for this but even that works OK. Also fairly light weight, it ran well on mid range phone with external PS2 type controller via USB-OTG, screen casting to TV, which was quite fun.
I bought this before the drone I ordered arrived as I wanted to minimize the possibility of crashing a rather expensive device. I never flew a drone before, and this app DID help me fly for the very first time!
[Dev: make compatible with a transmitter?] This definitely feels like a real drone style flight. Not like a simulation. Physics feel like it is actually a real drone. Easy to crash easy to lose control. This is what I'm using to train myself before buying a drone as I see it mastering this is mastering dronez.
Very good physics implementation, feels right. A few suggestions would be to allow the removal of top left zoomed in view of the drone, this would allow more concentration on practising attitude and position from a distant view instead of cheating by looking at the zoomed in view. Allow an option to replace that view with the FPV or gimbal view. The PID tuning options helped me understand the effects but everything happens squashed up on the left, it's difficult to fine tune so either allow a zoom in on the tuning sliders or manual numeric input or up/down scroll controls to fine tune the slider settings. More locations would be nice, very good locations would be worth an add-on purchase in my view. Better drone visual models would be nice but the existing ones don't detract. Finally, could you investigate adding Chromecast support so that I can send it to a projector? :) (latency may be an issue here I guess?)
Great learning tool. My FPV quadcopter has the same controls.
If i didnt get this my drone would have been crashed ,I thought it was simple but its alittle more complex than a reqular rc helicopter
It's fun, but a little difficult to get used to at first if you're inexperienced. Could use a lot more scenes though. A suburb and a city scene would be awesome.
Pls add more locations to fly. Needs some nice environments. Also enabling vr trial more crashes the app
Could we get bigger thumb pads, maybe some wooded maps and race gates? I would definitely pay for that! I know there are a lot of people that race 250 race quads that would download.
I don't get much chance to fly my quadcopter but this has almost certainly saved me from a lot of noob crashes and embarrassment because the handling does feel a lot like my DWI Dowellin.
This app realy helped me with my quad. It is also fun to play in my free time. I realy recommend this app to any new flyers!
Believe it or not ,this actually helped me learn the basics. Great job.
Very nice! I'm using this to practice while waiting for my first hexacopter purchase arrives. Wish there were trim settings, and as others note my thumbs completely cover the onscreen controls, but other than that I'm very glad i downloaded this...I think flying quads is a bit harder than I imagined, and now I can crash virtually and potentially *not* crash (as much) when my new copters get here! :-)
Difficult flying acro mode but fun. Wish they would add more locations. After trying to fly the drone through tight spots i have come to respect the time spent practising by pro drone racing pilots. Its tough
Pretty good drone sim, realistic controls. Does give a good idea of what it's like to control a drone. Good for training before breaking expensive bits on your new toy.
Great app! About as realistic as you can get without putting the real one in danger. Only complaint, only one choice of Quadcopter unless you purchase app. Beggars can't be chosers!
Nexus 6P, 6.0.1, Cardboard (Star Wars), generic BT Controller. Don't buy the VR for $1.88. Nice novelty but doesn't work, all I see is double and I've got to keep one eye close and alternate after that eye gets tired. I love the app in normal visual mode but the cardboard needs alot of work for the price, maybe lower it to 25¢ till it works. I don't care for a refund since I used survey credit. Keep up the decent work though.
I wouldn't have believed it, but this really helped me master my 'toy' quadcopter and informed my decision to buy a much pricier quad. I still use it when I can't fly outside to stay in practice or just want to tweak my skills.
Mapping issue with ipega bt controller...with cardboard its only throtle and rudder (yaw) ... tilt and roll not work
Just won't install just keeps going into a loop when downloading I've forced stop google play store and cleared cashe on phone no joy
Looks and feels so real. The controls need to be a little bigger though. And texts on screen are kinda small.
I love this. Just installed this on my Nexus 4 and it came up and ran without issues. Movement is a little tricky since my thumb completely covers the control so I cannot do fine-tuned flying. But it sure is fun. Would love to see this as a Chrome application so that I can use my Taranis to control it.
Good controls, but gets boring fast and sucks that once you crash in the demos you cant go back to that demo even if you crash 5sec in.
Love it...flys exactly like the real thing, minus the wind shear.
After update I have problem with comands response. I need to press TWO times EVERY comand in order to responde. Anyway, the best so far sim.
Made flying by real quad much much easier. Good job devs :)
Actually quite realistic. I like the way you can set up different joystick modes (that suites me nicely!). Would like to see more scenery, things to navigate, and more scenes too. But very nice. Thank you!
Its fun but I wish there was more content!
This is exactly what I need to relax and practice my quadcopter controls without breaking it.

I like the VR mode. However, the images displayed for each eye is off by 5mm (using default settings). To fix this, I changed my cardboard viewer profile to make the distance between lens to be 55mm to compensate the 5mm extra distance. I think rendered images are 5mm wider than normal. I hope you could update the app to include this minor change or maybe you could add a option in settings to adjust lens distance in VR mode. VR mode is really awesome!
