Yet another ColePoweredGames title—this one certainly does not disappoint. The controls are intuitive and you'll need to learn over time how to become a skilled pilot. It's also fun to gain the various upgrades and decide how to prioritise using them. There's no single set way to do this and the best offence isn't necessarily the best defence. I highly suggest getting the repair upgrade right at the beginning (after the first wave). My nephew was instantly hooked on this and stopped playing his Flappy Birds to take turns with me. He's not very good, but hey. It's definitely one of my favourite games on my Note II, so I give it 5/5.
Great start
Needs Google Games Functionality, for like achievements and highscores and things like that, to keep the replaybility going a little bit. Other than that, the controls work well after you get used to of no virtual joystick. --- I like the retro-electro music, and the little strategy involved trying to guide the plane avoiding fire while your gunner tries to take the other enemies down. It is kind of disappointing how there is only one scenic background (try to vary it up a bit in later waves.) and about 3 tunes replaying over and over again, which I guess is ok. If Other than that, it is a fun game to play for about 10-15 minute bursts. 3/5
To be honest, from looking at the screens I was expecting a WWI-themed version of MiniSquadron and I came away somewhat disappointed. This game isn't it; you don't have direct control of your plane or when to shoot, nor does it have the variety and breadth of content of that game. The camera is also zoomed in too close to be useful and your plane has a frustrating tendency to fly off screen leaving you unable to see and thus control it for seconds at a time. However, I will concede that after you get a hang of the controls it does get quite fun and a little challenging at times, and the period presentation is pretty great too.
love it!
next time i should try the game before i buy it
Great start
