Lola and the Giant for Android
Fantastic use of gameplay. Fun, challenging, and absolutely adorable. I love the Banjo-Kazooie vibe to it!
Plain and simple: this game is what showcases Google Daydreams potential.
Glad we have this game in Daydream VR platform. Game designs are pretty good, characters are so cute, stories are also heartwarming. Though the puzzles are pretty simple and straight forward and lack some secrets for player to find out, but the contents are long enough for player to stick with it for over three hours, unless your phone battery completely drained out in the middle of the game. And the companion app is a bonus here. You can share your own VR adventure with others by using the companion app rather than streaming the screen on YouTube or cast it to TV via Chromecast, and the user can also attach a hint on the map to tell the player what to do next, simple but can make this game kind of sharable with two players.
The best daydream game I've played. The puzzles aren't hard but the story is great. Occasional control bugs.
So far loving the game. The art style, characters and music are appealing. Controls are fairly simple. I enjoy the puzzles. However, once I got to the hangry volcano things began to get glitchy. Resumed the level yesterday now the dog doesn't tell me at all if the fruit is done, also the fruit stopped changing colors when it cooks no matter how long ot stays on there. And then sometimes the fruit doesn't show up on the pan after I send it down the shute. Controller also gets weird and stops working (fully charged).
Absolutely wonderful experience with Daydream VR. A wonderfully realized world that's charming and fun to explore, with relatively intuitive controls and smooth performance. My only gripe is the game's tendency to crash when starting up, necessitating exiting Daydream, force stopping the app, and reloading everything from scratch.
Okay so I have never finished an entire game in my life, but this was the only exception. The art style is cute but the relationship between Lola and the Giant is adorable. Addictive to play and graphics were awesome!
Be transported to a fairy tale world! The best mobile game experience I have ever had by far! It is also oozing with charm, and very immersive. Gameplay is overly simplistic, but at least that keeps things moving and fresh and you don't get stuck. Would be perfect for a young person. They have the right idea with the control style chosen, but often enough the behavior is a bit finnicky and what didn't work at first will randomly work when you keep trying. The graphics are a very charming cartoony look, reminiscent of a high budget Disney or Pixar movie, with a nice art style. The amount of 3D depth and substance the graphics have is insane! It's like you are actually inside an alternate fairy tale world and story someone made and are actually seeing it and interacting with it, especially after you get out of the starting cave. The cartoony graphics and 3rd person view actually add to this immersion by preventing you from comparing it too much with the reality you are used to, thus preventing the uncanny valley effect. It keeps feeling like I should be able to reach out and grab things!
Fantastic daydream game. Played for a while and deeply occupied. I'm wondering how the coop mode works. Does it need two daydream headsets and phones or only one?
Fun puzzle game. It's meant for younger kids but adults can enjoy too. You move around by pointing the cursor at the ground where the giant is moved with teleportation Style movement only being able to move to specific locations.
Lola gets stuck and you have to reset the game, co-op play never works. Very buggy
Best Daydream game I've played so far, a lot of fun! Just saw the companion app and am looking forward to trying that later with a friend.
Cute and whimsical characters and environment. Great use of the Daydream platform. Fun puzzles and long enough to enjoy, while being short enough to finish. One of my favorites so far.
Co-op play doesn't work, just says waiting for players.
Boring boring boring
Beautifully realised and jaw dropping visual quality Lola and the Giant makes for a delightfully whimsical adventure. The clever puzzles and intuitive controls deliver engaging and rewarding play. The switch from first to third person works well in VR, as does the gentle motion, which has resulted in a high comfort VR experience. The addition of a companion app makes this a proper ground breaking daydream title!
Absolutely incredible. If you have a daydream headset, this is what it's for. Buy it. If you don't have a daydream headset, buy one then buy this. I can't rate it highly enough. Comfortable motion, lovely visuals, fun puzzles, I have literally no complaints.
Only onto the second level and I'm in love. Easy controls, beautiful graphics, loveable characters and cool ambient music! So excited to finish it!
Dosen't work on Galaxy S8+ with Daydream view. Just get title screen, please fix this.
