Checkers Online for Android
And that's a sad thing because it has annoying ads that you can accidentally press... and if you do that you lose the game... you also lose if someone calls you or if the games interrupted for any other reason. AND there's no ad free premium version. If someone else makes this but better without this annoying stuff I'm gone.
Plays well, but you automatically lose if you get a phone call! No option to even decline the call. And, only 15 moves per player before a draw. No way to win if you have two checkers and you have to chase their one from one corner to the other before you trap them. Fix those issues and it'd be 5 stars.
Very disappointed. I loaded the app to learn the different types of checkers. Found it very confusing app to use. It also did not let me play online at all no matter what I tried. So I am giving up with checkers and going back to chess
The only thing I would fix is that every time my phone goes to sleep or something happens u lose the game which blows, come on programmers find the code and make it work.
The game forces me to jump the opponents piece when there is a much better move to be made instead, which causes me to lose nearly every game. Not fun at all. Removing this garbage app from my phone and trying a new checkers app
There might be something wrong with the rating system. I'm currently in the top 1% 2822 points. My success rate is 91% but average points per win is 2. And the "Elite" room is filled with weaklings. I think more points should be awarded for winning. Try and filter out the strongest players and pair them up or at least give an option to reject an opponent before making a move without losing points.
Playing anonymous online opponent makes it fun. Wish more people played. There is a flaw in game where an interrupting phone call or message ends the game with lose. Standoff shouldn't be automatic to 30 moves. This is disadvantage when 2to1 and can be won in few more moves. At least set it to 50 moves. Some players statics are over 1000 win and 2 lose. This can not be true. An explanation of settings would be nice. So many glitches need fixing.
You lose a game of you accidentally click on an ad during a game. The abuse reporting is a joke. You should also be able to leave the game and come back with out forfeiting the game if there's still time left.
U might as well not move cuz u can't even do it own move,it makes me lose and I know I've played better games than this!so....FIX IT
I am often forced to forfeit a game as soon as it starts, because I supposedly become disconnected from a network. Why is this happening? Other than this, I'd like to see the following improvements: 1) More variety in checkers pieces and backgrounds. 2) Fix the "cheating" bug. Sometimes I get a notice that my opponent tried cheating as soon as the game starts. 3) Improve the English grammar and spelling. 4) Remove the in-game ads. Sometimes I accidentally touch them during the game, causing me to forfeit.
This may be due to my own misunderstanding, but the computer checkers (the rdgular ones) could just jump behind them, instead of only being able to move ahead. I changed the settings, and now a king could jump across the board. Pretty sure that isn't in the rules.
I was able to play computer and could invite my friend to a game, but it never synced up nor did it ever let him move. We have the same phone so that wasn't the problem.
But i have one problem with this app that when my friend invite me i don't hear inviting tone please fix it
For a simple game you'd think that it wouldn't have too much of an effect on your device's battery however multiplayer really does drain the battery very quickly. My HTC M8 will go down about 10% after only a couple of games. I understand that multiplayer games require more processing work but I'd prefer improved battery use at the expense of a slightly slower response time (perhaps polling less frequently?).
I liked the game. Only one issue. While playing online sometime I can not move my pieces, although the game clearly shows its my turn. Pieces get selected but cannot be by moved, while clock keeps ticking and I m made to loose to novice player. Request admin to fix the bug
Developer has not replied to 5 emails. I have complained that I've been incorrectly punished for insulting opponents, requested that this be investigated & rectified. Alas, no response (first message was several weeks ago). Please (dev) reply, or add an appeal/justification process in-game to deal with this! (I haven't (intentionally) insulted anyone).
Wish i could play online, pretty sure im signed in. Oh, and what is everyone talking about "forced to jump"? Thats part of the games tactics! Haha. Use your brain and think ahead. Create setups by sacrificing 1 piece to get the opponent into a worse position. Every computer checkers ive played requires mandatory jumps when applicable. You complainers just dont get it
This version of checkers ignore the rules and regulations of the original. It forces you to jump other pieces that leads that piece into getting jumped, performing equel trade off. Then, you have the ability to jump backwards which just delay the game or take the piece that was forced to hop. You suppose to win and lose at the game, but modern checkers is taking that away.
Biggest issue with this game is the forced surrender. Gamers use it to draw a game they should lose. That should only happen if pieces are trapped and repeat the same move. The second biggest issue is the forced surrender if you switch apps or accidentally hit the in game ad. It automatically ends the game. This should never happen if there is still time on the clock.
This is by far the best online checkers l have known. I'm giving it 4 stars only for there is no count limit before the game goes draw if you're left with 3+ pieces. Yesterday, l played with someone who refused to accept a draw and so we kept going for some 15min until l quit. There should be a count limit if one keeps making the same move as in other games. l hope the developers can fix it.
Only one problem need to be fixed while playing with computer. In most cases the computer insist for me which one to play.... I really hate it. Otherwise 5stars. Pls improve in more difficult thanks
I dont like how i cant make my own decisions, like i have to do this or i cant move anything else. Its not very fun when its telling you that you have to move there or not move at all.
The app is "OK" if your win/loss stats mean nothing to you. But for serious players the app's "stand-off" rules will frustrate you very much! The app automatically defaults to a 30 move stand-off mode whenever the remaining pieces are 2 to 1! That's just 15 moves per player to either win, or "stand-off". This does not conform to ANY standard rules! Standard rules allow 40 moves PER player before stalemate is called and ONLY when NO player has an advantage!
This game forces me to jump. Every time I am forced to jump is because I get jumped in return. So dumb. I advise that if you want to play checkers just get a set not this game. In real life you get to not see everything coming and you can actually decode to jump.
It's good, but it's extremely unfair when there's a piece open for you to eliminate and the game forces you to do it. That's unfair because you could eliminate the opponent's piece, but then they can get two or three of yours. We shouldn't be forced to do that because sometimes we can be in a completely safe spot, but we have to move it and get it eliminated and possibly more in the same turn. Fix this please! Otherwise it's a fun game.
Sorry to say this, but your game is very poor. There's no way to play if you're forced to take an opponent piece, that's certain death. If you want a better rating, then you might want to consider the forced moves.
I find no fault with this game absolutely no fault. The game is easy to understand no complications, no rigmarole just simply the best company to have on your smartphone i mean you can even communicate with your opponent while playing with them. Let no man find any fault with this game. Thanks much for this game. Still the best
I don't usually do reviews but I hate this game. I don't know where they got their rules from, but it's crazy. It forces jumps so that your partner can jump 2-3 times, it helps your partner by jumping 4 squares away, let's your partner move backwards. I'm deleting this, it's such bs.
When 2 against 1, game only gives 30 more moves before forcing a tie. Sometimes you need more to complete game; saves poor players at good players expense. That IS NOT a checkers rule... Also my score doesn't update and little to no instructions... and now the gamecrashes all the time...
This app allows for cheating. This app does not understand draws. This app is terrible. The draw time should be 50 moves not 30. People who lose send in complaints for no reason. My ELO rating has not changed in 5 months. Weird
Every time I manage to make a move that will win the game, the computer forces me to play the option that will make me lose. This is very frustrating and is not fair game. I should be allowed to play whatever options I want and not forced to play a losing move. Surely developers should have seen this fault and rectify it long ago. For this I give the game 6 out of 10
I love this game and I am totally addicted at this point, but it just recently stopped allowing me to sign in to play online. When I click the sign in button it just makes the little clicking sound and doesn't go through. Anyone had this problem before? :(
I was able to play computer and could invite my friend to a game, but it never synced up nor did it ever let him move. We have the same phone so that wasn't the problem.
All my life growing up playing checkers i have never had to force jump ever. This game blows.
Should be a way to see my friends points. Too many players cheating and the app doesn't detect them.
Awesome application .. Add tournament features and list of players. Adding people and challenging will be good as well. As, I played with some players and then unable to trace them. Overall good application.
Great game! Many users comment on here that they hate the rules, such as being forced to jump. Well, that's Checkers! If you've been playing by some kind of child's house rules all your life, it's time to learn how the game is really played. And for those who complain about the backwards jumps, you're probably playing the default game mode with Russian rules (which, by the way, is an excellent game). Just change the rules settings to "Checkers" and you'll be playing the game you're more familiar with.
So far, I've only played the vs. Comp. Only thing I don't like is that it restricts your movement so the odds of winning are lessened. Not a challenging as Chess, but fun.
The computer doesn't know how to get one remaining king out of a double corner with two remaining opposing kings and incorrectly declares a standoff. Some people have commented that they don't like the forced jump rule. The whole strategy of the game is to set traps to take as many of the opponent's pieces in one turn whilst sacrificing as few as possible. To ignore a forced jump is against the basic rules of the game, at least it is in the UK rules.

Good Checkers game. Play against the computer or against another player sitting in the same room with you. I just played with my grandson. But this won't let me play him over the Internet once I go home to the other coast. Hence, only 4 stars.
