Explore the ancient ruins, survive to the bottom level and save the world.
Every time you play the game will create a new dungeon full of challenges and surprises for you in 5 different environments populated with monsters and ancient magical artifacts.
There are eight different player classes, each one designed with an unique play style. Some of them are combat focused while others must rely on the items found on the dungeon to survive.
As you advance through the game, you will find more than 40 different monsters with distinct skills and features, you will be able to charm them using magic spells and make them follow you in your quest; using ancient magic found in the dungeon you will also unlock the powers and skills hidden on their evolved forms.
Unlike classic roguelikes adapted to modern media, in Ananias there is no cumbersome movement or complex commands, however all the features from the genre that make the games fun are kept: turn based combat, random level generation and long term item strategy are among the things that make every adventure into the dungeon enjoyable.
You can also play along with your friends in the online mode; the game keep all friends up to date with their adventures in real time, so you can set up challenges or just have fun seeing your friend's characters die in the dungeon.
There are 8 classes, each one with its own strengths and weaknesses:
Alchemist
* Shoots liquid at enemies (Acid, Liquid Fire, and other potions)
* Can mix reagents into potions without danger of explosion.
* Starts with powerful potions (Flame Potion for example which deals a lot of fire damage when thrown)
Arcane
* Can cast the most powerful spells without danger of backfiring
* Extends power of magic wands
* Starts with powerful spells (like Charm Monster which makes any creature become your ally)
Paladin
* Can use all weapons and armor
* Blocks attacks using his shield
* Extends lifetime of weapons
Hunter
* Never misses a shot with a bow
* Performs critical damage with bows
* Prevents arrows from breaking
The levels in the dungeon are randomly generated every time you play, so you have to explore the level gathering useful equipment and looking the stairs to the next level, while avoiding death and managing your limited resources.
...will you drop your spare weapon and carry this potion with you, knowing it could be useful on the next level?
...will you risk attacking a group of enemies to fetch that powerful armor that could save your life? or will you better run away to save your hitpoints
...will you withstand the enemy attacks to reach the backrow and kill the phantom who is constantly healing all others?
...will you carry with you that powerful weapon to use it against strong enemies two levels below, even if that means using up inventory space and attacking with a weaker weapon?
The odds are against you, but if you die there's always a chance to start again and wish for better fortune

Barbarian

A few things This game is awesome. It plays well and is just mysterious enough to get my RPG playing bone tingling. However I got fairly far and then the game crashes. This is not a problem though as the Dev seems to have a great auto room save thing. Spellcasting takes a long delay between the cast and damage or whatever. A few simple options in the menu would alleviate this problem. EDIT 3: with the timely update, crashes are limited to losing just the progress from the current room. Thanks guy!

Great rpg, armor/weapon shows on character, random dungeon generator and nice music. Bunch of enemies and spells. Enemy creatures can be charmed (1 pet at a time) and the creature fights by your side. Many classes and a lot of fun. Bad part of all this? Death is always lurking o.O 4

It's pretty original as far as rogue likes. Although I was down to 23rd or so floor, and it quit responding so I closed the game and started up again just to find out I lost my game entirely... Decent game just really needs fixed.

Great rpg, armor/weapon shows on character, random dungeon generator and nice music. Up to now that is all I can say since the app closes on the second level. On phone mode the game closes on the loading screen and in tablet mode the game loads the second level but any interaction with items/enemies makes it close immediatly (able to move until interaction). I have a basic tablet with kitkat 4.4.2 and playing a variety of HD games haven't been a problem for me. Not sure what could be the issue here.

I found a problem. The audio would crash the game after finishing lvl 1 of the game. Update: it just closes. One more thing. It would be awesome if you actually added some ancient gear modelled after ancient empires like Carthage or Rome. It gives a little more feel to the game, like there were many who ventured centuries before you and so on.

Love the game, wish you could sell extra items/buy items in a shop, could add gold that enemies drop. Also pet commands need improvement. A "leave the room and don't come back" command would be awesome; the current pet commands don't seem to effect their behavior.

I haven't played for to long but so far this game has been enjoyable, challenging, and let me thinking how an i going to get out of this situation. If you enjoy pixel dungeon or other roguelike games this one is certainly worth a check

Played the game when it was new, and i have to say, the improvements are very nice. I still cant play it for too long in one sitting, but it has become a nice little crawl.

*Update* issue listed below fixed. Rating changed to reflect it. -- Found bows are now all unloaded, and arrows are very rare to find. That's like making all the magic user weapons uncharged, or all of the melee weapons broken. It renders the archer useless after the starting arrows run out. Please fix this. Also, check the algorithm for level bonuses. Getting 24 "Unlucky" in a row across a handful of games sucks. 5* again when fixed.

You seriously need to make an rpg with art like this because A) Having a character I can keep (and a more involved level system or whatever) would be GREAT. B) You have such potential with this because each item/character just requires one small sprite.. you could make tons of everything. Just make sure the squares are smaller compared to the character. Maybe 80% what they are now, so it feels more immersive.

Denares, my big, hairy, burly arcane mage, cursed to be reincarnated until he retrieves the ring, now walks the corridors of the halls in his eternal quest, lovingly swathed in women's armor. "No matter!" He shouts at the satyrs who gaze confusingly at his chisled thighs and black knee high boots. "I shall slay you all until this damned curse is broken! Then I can rest in peaceful and eternal slumber!" Muzzy, his dire wolf, barks with equal confusion and agreement. Denares later falls at the hands of the rat guardian. For the fourth time. 10/10 will always play again.
