Goofspiel

What is Goofspiel?:
Goofspiel, or the Game of Pure Strategy (GOPS), is a simple card game for two or more players, requiring a certain level of strategy to win rather than relying on luck. Each player is given one suit from the deck and plays for cards from the Spade suit. The goal of the game is to end up with higher valued cards than your opponent by playing higher ranked cards of your own. For example, if the 3 of Spades is up for grabs, and you play a 5 while your opponent plays a 2, you win 3 points. Once all 13 Spade cards have been won, the player with the highest point value wins the game.

The cards are valued from 1 - 13 with the Ace counting as one point.

Examples of Strategy:
In an ideal hand, you will end up playing a card that is just one rank higher than what your opponent plays. In this scenario, you will have won the card that is up for grabs that turn while also keeping your chances of losing later in the game to a minimum.

Alternatively, the player could play a very low valued card if they anticipate that the opponent will use one of their higher cards, setting themselves up to do well later in the game.

Notes:
- As of right now, it is only possible to play against the computer. In the future, another mode will be added allowing for two human players.
