Yahtzee is a dice game, which was first marketed as "Yatzie" in the early 1940s.
Yatzie was included in a game set called "LUCK - 15 Grand Dice Games".
The object of the game is to score points by rolling five dice to make certain combinations. The dice can be rolled up to three times in a turn to try to make various scoring combinations. A game consists of thirteen rounds. After each round the player chooses which scoring category is to be used for that round.
Once a category has been used in the game, it cannot be used again. The scoring categories have varying point values, some of which are fixed values and others where the score depends on the value of the dice. A Yahtzee is five-of-a-kind and scores 50 points; the highest of any category. The winner is the player who scores the most points.
The Yahtzee scorecard contains 13 different category boxes and in each round, after the third roll, the player must choose one of these categories. The score entered in the box depends on how well the five dice match the scoring rule for the category. Details of the scoring rules for each category are given below. As an example, one of the categories is called Three of a Kind. The scoring rule for this category means that a player only scores if at least three of the five dice are the same value. The game is completed after 13 rounds by each player, with each of the 13 boxes filled. The total score is calculated by summing all thirteen boxes, together with any bonuses.
The Yahtzee scorecard contains 13 scoring boxes divided between two sections:
- Upper section
- Lower section
A Yahtzee is a 5 of a Kind (i.e. all the die faces are the same), and it scores 50 points. If you roll more than one Yahtzee in a single game, you will earn a 100 point bonus for each additional Yahtzee roll, provided that you have already scored a 50 in the Yahtzee category. If you have not scored in the Yahtzee category, you will not receive a bonus. If you have scored a zero in the Yahtzee category, you cannot receive any bonuses during the current game.

There is something seriously wrong with this app. Dice shows completely different than what it scores. Example. Show 3 4 2 5 1. Scores 4 x 6. Really messed up this one.

Way to many mistakes with scoring and they don't recognize what you roll. Several times now I have rolled something like a full house and they do not scorebit as such. Worst game I have ever downloaded.

Computer does not score correctly at times. It just gave my opponent a 2nd Yahtzee worth 100pts for a roll of 4 3's and a 6!! That is NOT a Yahtzee!!???? Things like this have happened often, all in my opponent's favor. I don't think the rolls are rigged tho, as I've won plenty of times.

I don't often give a bad review, but my experience with this game was truly terrible! Waiting for another player was bad enough (why can't we each log in & play @ our convenience?) but the breaking point was that there are NO INSTRUCTIONS ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! A total waste of time ????

Why is it that every time I want to play I am asked if I want to sign or join face book? The answer is NO I do NOT! What is the big deal with face book anyway? I don't have friends nor do I want friends. I play just to pass time.

When you have taken zero for Yahtzee and get Yahtzee later you should be able to use it for three or four of a kind. Too many errors in the math when it is adding the scores. Uninstall.
