GA5:Catacombs of the Undercity for Android
I bought GA 1-9 during recent sale. 1-4 and 9 work great. 5-8 crash as soon as I opened them. I have a Nexus 7. Update: Worked in airplane mode.
As with all Tin Man Gamebooks and Fighting Fantasy adventures, these are truly magical. You can tell a lot of hard work goes into them. Worth every penny.
need an item that I never seen before to suvive in the end. Otherwise you die regardless of your current power. Terrible design shame on you
Does not run.
The aura of the story is compelling but it relies on a SUDDENLY THIS HAPPENS style of narration where you have to constantly roll dice to fight random crap that spawned in the room to survive and wear down your hp with no way to recover. Your decisions matter little to survival and you seem to fight the same enemies in every direction you go. Your guy even with perfect stats feels like your guy is an unarmed peasant where your best bet is always to hide like a coward, if you fight you exclaim something like PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE before your set on fire by fire demon and get ROLF stomped, enemies that would own you even if you weren't half dead from random spawns and traps in every other room. There's no logical out for survival it's always chance with unfair odds. Also every boss like guy will install kill you unless you have whatever you didn't get by choosing you route instead of offering choices which is just lazy writting.
I don't read at all but all has changed, glad i invested in this.
I have a kind of love/hate relationship with the gamebooks from Tin Man Games. On one hand, they're making gamebooks in this day and age, and they understand that sometimes bookmarks and rerolling dice are necessary to avoid utter frustration. On the other, they've developed the worst combat system I've ever seen in a gamebook, and their bookmark system has both fundamental problems and a few bugs. Let's focus on the bookmarks since that's a less subjective topic. When you load a previous bookmark, it doesn't remove (or in Classic, refund) any of the bookmarks you used after that point. If I've placed my sixth bookmark, load my third and look at my bookmarks again, there are still six bookmarks listed. In Classic, this is a huge pain in the neck as you're limited to six. You also can't delete any of them when you're playing with unlimited bookmarks, which leads to clutter. Furthermore, the system can be buggy; on numerous occasions, after loading a bookmark, my defense bonus from the armor listed in my inventory wasn't applied until I reloaded again. All in all, it's OK. Not the most frustrating GA book although there's a potentially unavoidable cheap death at the very end.

Really enjoyed all of these game books
100% adictive - beware :-)

This GB, like the others, is great. I felt like this one was a bit harder, with many more options on where to go and what to do. BUT many people will probably appreciate that the gaming experience is longer!
This is the first of two of these game books I've bought and I was hooked immediately. Looks like I'll have to buy the rest. The story is compelling and game play is straightforward and doesn't slow down the pace at all. It's recommend this to any RPG or fantasy fan.
We need Warlock Of Firetop Mountain!
you make the best games thank you plez let us buy all your games for iphone
I took a chance buying this as it's out of the norm for me. This is FUN!!! 5 stars
I love these books. Keep up the good work!
Played books 1 & 3, which were very good. This one, sadly, was a big disappointment... Badly written and with dull choices. ("Left, Right, Straight ahead"...). The only good thing was the artwork.
I don't buy many apps so when there is one series out where I check almost daily to see if the next one is out then that means you guys are definitely doing something very right.
keep it up!
