Dodge Free

Dodge Free might be a skill game where your goal is to avoid the spinning shapes to earn the highest possible score. Then again, it might be an analogy that you can apply at your imagination's whim.


Our story begins with our intrepid hero, new to the world and fresh faced. Full of hope and optimism, ready to make a difference to the lives of many. However, the four generators start to speak to our hero, first only as whispers, but later as a growing flood. You dodge past one nefarious object and lo and behold, another has appeared behind it! You dodge left, you dodge right, but at each turn there is a growing wave of colourful shapes threatening to overwhelm you. Worst of all, each object never fades from view, generating more and more objects on the screen with each passing moment of Dodge Free.


What to do? You're committed now! You're like a surfer once you paddle out - you're riding this wave all the way to it's conclusion, for better or for worse. Best to strap in, concentrate and go for broke. Spot the gaps and ease into them. You'll have to weave your way in between the objects to stay alive. All the while, the looming spectre of 'Best Time' hangs over you, laughing at your efforts. Are you going to take this? Are you going to sit there and let that happen? You've got an obligation now! This is Dodge Free!


With your mind channelled into full-focus mode, the screen gathers colour and movement as you fight for survival. A roaring of doubt pushes into your mind as you narrowly dodge another shape, and you push your fears away. "No!" you shout, "I will not be beaten by 'Best Time'". Sweat starts to ooze and bead; eyes dare not blink and your jaw clinches tightly together. You're on the edge of your seat! Vision starts to blur with concentration, shapes and colours blend into a kaleidoscope of excitement and breathlessly, you realise that the game is over. The inevitable conclusion of many vs the one has taken it's final toll.


But what is this? The final laugh may still rest of with you because through all the electricity and pizzazz, you have done it! You have beaten the 'Best Time' and the Dodge Free title now belongs to you! You alone can claim the top prize and sit on the shoulders of other mere mortals, who can do nothing but stare enviously up at you from their lowly high score positions. With grinning teeth and goose bumps on your hands, you enter your three digit badge of honour to proudly show to all those around the table.


Your life will never be the same.... until.... until it must be beaten again.
