### What is the app about?

You must have heard the sounds monkeys and lions make, but do you know what wild animals such as squirrels, hedgehogs, moose and grizzly bears sound like? If not, playing with our app will change all that.

Kids wildlife zoo presents fantastic close-up images of wild animals in full HD. When touching or stroking the animals, you will hear what sounds like naturally, embedded in a fantastic nature sound.

In the learning mode, you learn how to match the amazing animal sounds with the animals. In the two quiz modes of varying difficulty, you can check whether you can remember them. Wonder how the adults will do?

The app is free of charge and advertisements – so you can enjoy the game without those annoying, flashing ads.

### For what age is the app suitable?

Actually, there’s no minimum age limit. Once you can touch the animals with your finger, you can hear the animal sounds in the learning mode.

Once you can speak reasonably clearly or perhaps even write, you can operate the two quiz modes by voice or text.

But even older children and adults interested in animals can enjoy the animal sounds and try the game. The context-related Wikipedia links of the presented animals invite you to browse extensively through the wildlife on Wikipedia.

### What are the main functions and features of the app?

The app will automatically start in the game menu (see Figure 1). The following modes are activated by stroking the baby elephants over the three buttons with icons. All animals are presented in random order.

+ Learning Mode: "Meet the Animals"
By stroking the animals displayed, you will hear the corresponding animal sound and the animal name will be displayed (see Figure 2-6). The aim in this mode is to remember which animal sound belongs to which animal.

+ Quiz Mode1: "Recognising Animal Images and Sounds"
Play 5 animals (adjustable): By stroking the displayed animals, you will hear the corresponding animal sound but without the name of the animal. Then you can enter the animals names by voice or text. You will find out if the entry was correct in the score at the end of the game.

+ Quiz Mode 2: "Recognising Animal Sounds"
Play 5 animals (adjustable): Now it becomes more difficult. Now you only see a natural image with a question mark and you hear an animal sound (see Figure 7). You can then enter the names of the animals by voice or text. You will find out if the entry was correct in the score at the end of the game.

You can cancel all 3 modes by pressing and holding the button with the house icon at any time.

By pressing the "W" in the left-hand corner of all animal pictures, the Wikipedia entry for this animal will appear.

### What other features does the app have?

You can access the game menu by pressing and holding the 3 points in the upper right-hand corner in the program menu (see Figure 8).

+ Total number of animals presented (reduced for simplicity)
+ Number of animals per quiz (3 out of 3 correct answers are easier than 10 out of 10)
+ On/off switching of Wikipedia link (switching possible with nimble children fingers)
+ Adjustment of the background sound volume (CAUTION: First set to soft for infants. Too loud sounds can interfere with voice inputs)
+ Switching off of voice output (when parents want to say animal names, voice output needs network connection)
+ Adjusting speed of voice output (for adjusting natural language)
+ Selection of voice input or text input select (voice input requires also a network connection)
+ Changing max duration of animal sound (shorter for the impatient)

+ Best speech output quality is achieved with the Google app "Text-to-Speech" (in PlayStore).
+ Connect the output of the headphones to an amplifier (not for Toddlers!)
