I've been into games for most of my life, having been a child of the Spectrum era. I thought I'd experienced all the gaming world had to offer, in high definition, using just my waving hands, you name it. And then I played Droplab. I don't know anything about the company 64th Pixel as obviously they are not as well known as companies such as Electronic Arts and Atari, but if this is indicative of what this software house is capable of delivering then watch this space. Right from the first moment I dragged a wibbly thing from one space to another space, I knew that this was something new - not just a re-imagining of a popular gaming concept, but a redefinition of all things colourful and grid related. It reminded me of the first time I played Tetris on a black and white Gameboy, this is new, this is, well, without being too dramatic, this is what 'defines us'. I love this game, and take it to bed with me now, it is my faithful companion and I live in fear of the day I reach the last level and drag my last wiggly thing across the screen. My only hope is that by then, Droplab 2 will be available and life will be good once more...
