Verbal narration. (Players should delay finding last item to hear full story.) Power-ups are never needed because: 1.) Plenty of time is given, 2.) Items usually have more vibrant colors than background. (Letters in bonus levels are more solid/less textured.), and 3.) If the timer reaches 0, the game briefly removes unfound letters (in the bonus levels) before changing screens. So, if you are observant, this will teach you where they were/are.
