Picture clue didn't open up

I was really enjoying this until the programme failed to open the centre of a picture, despite having the correct solution. Tried four times, no go. Confirmed with the walkthrough. Could thus go no further. Grrr.

Got a good way through this and then found the 'domino' puzzle wouldn't give me a gem, even though I'd completed it properly. I hate this sort of glitch. :(
