Hero Mages is a turn-based tactical strategy fantasy game that combines the fun of role playing games (RPGs) with competitive and cooperative cross-platform multiplayer gameplay. Designed and developed by a single individual driven to share his passion for gaming with the world, Hero Mages also blends the best elements of tabletop miniature and collectible card games.
***GAME PLAY***
Hero Mages is played from a top-down perspective allowing the player full visibility over the battlefield. Each player commands a party of three fantasy heroes, including a powerful mage. Equipped with a set of dice and a hand of cards representing magical spells, players take turns commanding their party of heroes. With the power to unleash the wrath of the elements, summon heinous creatures, and manipulate the world itself, the player's mage is their ultimate hero as they leverage skill, politics, and luck to eliminate their enemies and emerge victorious!

I just finished the tutorial, and loved it! It combines D&D elements with a bit of Magic the Gathering. Online mode could be great if more people played. The only thing holding this game back is the art style. (Those sprites won't draw a crowd.) You should unlock some more features until the game gets on its feet.

Loved the game but was disappointed when i finished the tutorial and realised that was the whole game. Also when playing multi player, the leave room button does not work for my device. Rather frustrating.

I very much wanted to like this game. I was intrigued by the mechanics and thought it sounded great but I was terribly disappointed. That stupid duel with the elf is impossible. They all have buffs and ranged attacks and the only hint I get is to protect my sorceress. Can't reach them on the first turn and can't hide either because of their ranged power. They show you the basics then throw you into a time limited battle with a superior foe. Get Kingturn instead.

The core gameplay is pretty solid, with some clever game mechanics such as mana cards, but unfortunately UI issues plague this game. For one thing, you can't tell if a unit is an ally or an enemy without selecting it! And for another, the map is zoomed out by default, but when it's zoomed out, it's hard to see what's going on unless you have a tablet - and if you zoom in, it won't auto-scroll to any fighting that goes on when it's not your turn, so you have to dig around in the (very detailed) game log!

I played this version of the game and thought it was really good but that everyone online was way too good to win or learn against. I got the paid version only to find out that it isn't that people online were very good, but that the game was incredibly unbalanced. In the one player game no matter how you strategize it will come down to a sorcerer meleeing you to death with 3 crits while your fighter can't land a blow on the sorc... Rolling is broken and a joke of a "tabletop" game.

An amazing turn - based strategy rpg. It has a great offline mode you can use to practice against NPCs and online can play on your phone or PC brower. Highly recommended.
