Sphinx -Room Escape Game- for Android
Slightly different style from the majority of these escape games which made it a bit challenging in places. Gameplay is a bit slow however - got bored after a while. Graphics not the greatest. Still it's free so worth a punt.
True, the graphics and animations are crude. But the design and the difficulty was so on point it far overwhelmed the negative aspects of the game. I have hence proceeded to the download the rest of the rooms.
Puzzles were fairly challenging. It took me a while to figure out that some items can be manipulated and combined with others. Even so, I finished the game in a couple of hours. Nicely done, just wish it was longer.
Enjoyed playing the game and there are some nice puzzles in there but a bit too much trial and error clicking things for my liking. Still lots of fun though.
For a change there are some actual logic problems (not too hard) incorporated in this game, what makes all the difference! Brilliant. Give me more!
Challenging puzzles but.... Should have included some instruction on how to use items. Had to use walkthrough to find out items could be moved/flipped in inventory. It isn't intuitive that this is possible.
Some clues were a little obscure, which at times I found a little annoying, but this did not detract from the game play. Nice mixture of puzzles.
Navigation makes sense, clues are used and reused through multiple levels. Good graphics. No annoying ads, game saves itself automatically, no need to restart
Hard but super fun. No clues, nothing. Just explore, think and figure it out. If you're stuck, make sure you searched everywhere.
Visually this won't win any awards, it's flat and boring. The clues are hard to find, but if you're stubborn like I am, you'll stick with it to the end.
One of the best escape games I've played. Just when you think you're finished, another room opens up with more puzzles to solve. Complex and lengthy, but in a good way. Must play.
1st, to those saying the puzzles are illogical, or obscure, every one of them made sense to me. Most of the time you'll get visual clues. 2nd, they weren't "extremely hard". I made it through in less than 4 hours, and I enjoyed it. This game's design and puzzles are very fun for someone who can enjoy this genre of game. BUT, only issue that became much too frequent towards the end of the game, is the app lagging and crashing. I wondered if it would let me finish! It's the only app of the series that has this problem (I've now completed them all! :) It's still worth 5 stars for the quality and fun.
One of the best puzzle escape games I've ever played. The puzzles were the perfect level of challenging while still interesting enough to keep the game fun. Superbly done game! I'll be playing more from this developer, and hope to see a Sphinx 2!
Most of the puzzles in this game made no sense. Couldn't do it without the walkthrough. No hints and illogical. Completely ridiculous.
It all made perfect sense afterward, and yet it was so difficult to figure out. I had to cheat.
Sphinx is a more tactile game than others I've played in this genre; it's important for new players to know just how much you can interact with the items, as once I became aware of this it became far less frustrating. Many 'escape the room' style games limit the use of their items but in this game they can be flipped, rotated, dismantled, combined with each other and often reused. When you realise this it becomes entirely about logic and lateral thinking, although far from simple. In fact, this is not a game for people who want fast-paced puzzle solving and give up if they don't immediately get it, it could take you a while. The game's structure also isn't linear - it's not progressing through one room at a time, you unlock new rooms off the starting room and will continue to use all of them throughout. Navigation and interaction are pretty much perfect, causing no major issues other than occasional unintentional swiping out of rooms. My only niggle is that it felt too short for me, filling one full evening and an afternoon... but it's a free game (with in-obstructive ads), and for some it'll take longer. Tap everywhere if you're stuck though, before you resort to Google.
Best escape I have played, intricate puzzles. Really difficult so the odd peek at a walkthrough is required.
Really liked this game's difficulty. I needed YouTube help with the vases, but it really challenged me.
ROCKING-OUT-LOUD!!! I enjoyed this challenge riddled escape adventure. Well done!
I find the water transfer from one jar to another pretty difficult, I almost quit on that part. Anyway, is the ending just like that? after tapping the opened door, it's just black screen on the other side?
Other than the programme getting jammed midway, this is a pretty good game. The puzzles are challenging but not illogical. Good game. :)
Enjoyed it until I got tired of finger bashing the screen to find the next item. Wish there was more of a story.
A great escape the room! Very challenging and I really enjoyed how you need to revisit rooms. No hints, but there is a walkthrough for when I got really stuck
Most escape the room games are a little quick but this was challenging without being impossible.
Very unique escape game. Rather than just finding useful items, you also have to use a bit of logical thinking. Hope this will evolve escape games.
Really good. Difficult at time. Some clues would be good. But worth working through.
Great. Challenging puzzles. Lots of looking to figure it all out. I've played a lot of these types of games... Will definitely be looking for more like this!
I hated playing this. It's boring
Taps fail on Pixel-C on Nougat 7.1.1 . Really now...
This game was incredibly difficult in the most fun way possible. Clues are well done and make sense but take time to figure out. Took me a few weeks to finish. If you are new to games like this, it may prove to be to difficult. If you are experienced with games like this, this will be a welcomed challenge. I have been playing escape games for years and this one is the most impressive I have played. Highly recommend!
Super challenging and fun. Not your typical escape game, its actually gard to figure out. I had to cheat a few times!
As usual this developer has done a really nice job with building a challenging but logical game. I didn't need any hints or help but I play a lot if these so I think I've got a pretty good grasp on most of the puzzles. Still, Escape time was 1 hour and 30 minuets so it kept me entertained Very nice!
It all made perfect sense afterward, and yet it was so difficult to figure out. I had to cheat.
I liked it. It's definitely a challenge. What I didn't like was there was no rhyme or reason for the clues. Add to that no hints so you're left in the dark just trying random things. If things made a little more sense logically this game would be amazing.

Extremely good and hard, too. Admit had to cheat a little here and there...
It's a great escape game! Ideal for people who like to take their time whilst solving puzzles, without using a walkthrough..! I'm going to download the other games and try not to use a walkthrough :)
That one was the best of what i played in years. I will try all your others and i wish they are at the same level
Keeps you on your toes. I like how an item will stick around when you still need it. Great puzzles with multiple layers.

This one's a little different. The puzzles go way beyond mere "find a clue, go find an item, go back to use the item". They're clever, beautifully logical and will give you a nice evening or two of wholesome entertainment. Too bad the game's pretty short considering all the crazy levels in other puzzle games (Room One through Three <3 OK, that one's a trilogy). I'd love more!! Sphinx Two plz?
