Minesweeper for Android
I like the app in all, but I have some points I would like the developer to take into consideration. When a new game starts, it would be better to start with the "mine" option on and not the flag (so that you can open a new tile and not set a flag randomly), even if the flag was the last option used in the previous round. I also believe that in hard mode the game is made too random and not that skill-demanding. Other than these points it's nicely done!
I love that this game has been ported so smoothly to the phone. The most interesting part of this game is the ads, or rather, the option of ads. In since this game is free it includes ads, but you can turn them of, or change the kind of ad that you get. For this reason, i actually had the ads on, because i think the developer deserves the money he/she gets from choosing such a great system. Sadly i cannot speak for everyone. Good game.
Overall the app is really great. It's the same concept as the original PC version with just some slight changes to make it work for a touch screen. The only downside is that since you're not playing with a mouse you have to click a button at the top of the screen every time you want to switch between planting flags or revealing spaces vs using the right or left mouse buttons. But I see no way around this on a smart phone or tablet. Also, there are very minimal ads, which is awesome.
Input delays keep getting me killed. Instead of marking a bomb my input sets it off. I'd prefer two different inputs for marking or removing tiles. I'm using a stylus too so I know it's not an issue of accidentally hitting the wrong tile.
Great game. Love it! Sometimes the flag wouldn't place when you pressed a square, and once it selected a square instead of placing a flag, but I still really liked it. Wish there was a zoom because the mini square field is a ton of fun, but a bit small for my fingers. I still love the game though!
One of my favorite games ever! I am glad to see it available for my phone!!! However: I do not like the constant switching between marking a flag and clearing a space, because I keep blowing up mines I am trying to mark, from being in the wrong mode. A tutorial to explain the settings and the flag/clear switch would be nice. Using a long press to flag a space and a tap to clear it would be even better. I would like to be able to set the bomb number myself.
Classic minesweeper. I am so happy because I have just won my first game! Having read some previous reviews, perhaps I have a newer version as I am able to save the game and come back to it when I can; have not experienced any bugs; nor have I been confronted with nude ads. I do not have mad skills in this area so I do not find it too easy. Great app!
Hard mode is literally unplayable. The board needs to generate around the first click, so you always start with a "bubble", so you have something to go off of. Playing a dozen games before you get a setup that you can analyze is not worth it.
It is a classic Microsoft Windows game which had all but disappeared. To be able to play it on the phone is just great. I only have two complaints. A new game should start with the mine option rather than the flag, irrespective of the last used position. And the hard difficulty level is so densely populated with mines that it is more of a chance based game than one of skill and logic. Otherwise it is fun to play.
Good game, same as old time windows PC. One suggestion: please show the advertisement only if 15 seconds or more gameplay is complete. Because I always click randomly at different squares initially untill the game builds up, and due to this, if a mine explodes, then I always accidently click on the ads that are displayed at game over screen.
I love minesweeper, but this one has a bug where, even when you've chosen to use a flag to mark a mine, it will accidentally trigger a mine. It's uncommon for it to happen, but when playing at the highest difficulty, it's common enough that it has been the cause of multiple lost games at this point. Very frustrating.
I used to pay this when I was a kid in the 90's and I was NEVER able to beat it because I never understood how it was played plus I wss too young to even think about looking up "how to play minesweeper" lol. NOW that I'm grown, I looked it up and NOW I get it haha. This game is the same as it was back then. I love it!
The controls are a little wonky, because all you can do is tap to clear or hold to place a flag, and the game often confuses the two. An option to place a question mark on a block would be super helpful, too. But it is what it is, and it is classic Minesweeper.
The game glitches and shrinks cells to the point that you absolutely cannot play because you can't see anything. I was really looking forward to playing minesweeper again! What a shame.
Its a really good game. You just need to practice and you will be fine. Anyway, thats just the problem. Ive tried many times but i couldn't do it. Finally I did it but with a time of 4.14. I still think its a really good game (:
excellent game & one of the best minesweeper apps on the market EXCEPT there's no zoom in feature! makes it impossible to play harder modes on a phone cuz you keep accidentally tapping mines when you're trying to clear the spot next to it :(
I used to hate minesweeper, but now that I'm getting into it with this app, I'm finding that it's pretty fun. I like that the app is pretty minimalistic, but still has some features that let you customize your gameplay. A few features that I think would improve this app would be if there was an explosion sound effect when you set off a bomb, and maybe a menu where you could look back at your scores. Over-all, great app, would recommend.
Nice to have an app version of minesweeper. However, tiles dont always respond correctly where some will disappear or just not register. This is usually happens one to two times a game. But still enjoyable!
It's a good import of the windows version. As with the original you will get into situations where you can't use logic and have to guess at a mine location. That's a game design issue rather than an app flaw. All in all I enjoy it.
This game saved my life! I was surrounded, by landmines and little numbered tiles, with no way out but to find the mines. This game gave me the skills I needed to survive, and I hope it saves you as well. Every year, hundreds die from minefields that have clearly labeled numbered tiles. These are preventable deaths, and props to the creators of this app. 5/5, thank you so much :)
While this certainly is minesweeper, there are some serious design flaws. First off, when you click the first cell the board does not seem to generate around that, meaning that 80% of games on medium you will loose randomly opening squares trying to get a start. Hard mode is literally unplayable, as the mines are so dense it turns into a guessing game. There are better minesweeper apps out there.
Just your good old classic Minesweeper but without a save game function. Thanks GMM I am addicted now... Well atleast I don't have to eat something nasty when I hit a mine!!
Good rendition of the classic game! However, be warned: hard mode is basically "impossible mode". The small screen size means the mines are too dense to be able to make any progress. Other than that, good fun!
I've come to despise the unhappy face. But the game itself is great for teaching you patience and common sense. Im grateful, it's showed me that you need to be certain of your moves before you make them. Deep haha
I spent more time randomly clicking than speed playing. Sometimes I need 10 clicks for geting a starting point. From level medium is unplayable as the algorithm generates a lot of random choice cases.
Theres not really any reason to give anything but five stars. You gotta make money somehow, whats wrong with ads? Great game overall. It's on windows, so what? At least its not like some off brand reskinned version of the game.
Basically the same game that Microsoft has for teaching mouse control. However there is no mouse, so no left and right button. No instructions on controls so you have to learn using trial and error. Have to toggle between flag and clear (which shows as a bomb). Precise finger placement is a must. Holding down on square with bomb count clears associated squares similar to right mouse button.
I wish i can post the ad pics here. Stupid how can they post adult nude type of ads in this app? Kids may play this ad. Based on the ad pic..I wouldn't recommend this app.
Excellent minesweeper game, keeps to the original pc version fantastically. Only thing that bugs me is the app icon is slightly rotated (wonky) and it's driving me mad to look at!!
Try your brains and see how you do, I lived threw a brain injury, comma 5 years ago this September 22 and my normal time is 3-6 minutes. Can you keep up, or I'm I truly missing that much up there?
I love the look and feel of the game, but it does not play the same. Typically, your first one or two clicks give you a playable field. This one is a few random clicks to clear any substantial cells to start playing. Lame.
Shame about the ads but that's to be expected. Just like the original. Just remembering to change the icons for flag or clear is the only bit I find awkward. Apart from that five stars.
Good little minesweeper clone. Don't mind an add or two, but the video adds with sound are a bit much, so dropping a star for that
Im here from GMM and i wanted to try this just because i havent played it in a while . I love this and its very addicting. The flag option is soooo nice. I didnt know what it was at first but it helps with remembering where the bombs should be and that d amazing. Great game
Love this game. Ads normally not too intrusive. Had a run of video ads with obnoxious music that didnt have a "close now" option. boo. Small fix request: haptic feedback sometimes with no flag (usually when i have issues tapping one box). Tapped to flag but BOOM instead.
When starting a new game it should always open up some space for you to start. Not clicking then seeing a 1 or a 2 so it makes the start of games just clicking randomly until you can start or taping a bomb. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are going to play beginner and only beginner
Gameplay is awesome and simple and keeps me happy and entertained, except for when I start and one block lights up with a 2 on it and nothing else round it... Worst yet, if you get a 1 block. ????????????
An excellent game, exactly like the original Windows version. No sounds, but that's not really a bother. Just needs a purchase-able premium option so you don't have to deal with intrusive ads between games.
Great OLD game. Restarting should change from flag to search, I'm a clock watcher and that screws up the new game. There should be an easier way to switch from flagging to searching. And it should be made to get progressively harder, because I'm going to get bored with it very quickly.

Pretty good, would like a little better graphics though, and sometimes when I go to hold it registers as a tap. Maybe it's just my phone. Also I'm not sure how close it is to the PC version (scale and such) and would like it closer. But I know its hard on a phone screen. Maybe if you made the rotation horizon, you can match the PC layout more (with the different sized boards that the PC version has)
