About Running to Flight
An listening experience using GPS created by Rosie Poebright with Splash & Ripple. This sonic artwork has a 'locative' mode to be played in Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea, UK and an 'experience elsewhere' mode to be played wherever you are. A voice takes you on a journey through the park and you become aware of your surroundings as well as you're own decisions in the process.
For those interested in standing outside their everyday lives, this is an ideal meditative work to listen to on your smart device in a public place. Best experienced with headphones.
Music by Duncan Speakman
Voice by Leah Marks
Technology by Calvium and Tarim
Commissioned by Metal
Supported by the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts – Nesta, Arts & Humanities Research Council and public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. This responsive experience is designed for wondering and wandering in Chalkwell Park, Southend.
If you’re elsewhere, you can still listen to the audio, just imagine a park on a hill.
It’ll take about 20 mins.
