Great app. I love to confuse my friends and tell them, HTC Explorer has built-in compass :)

This is the only app that I could find that provides a reasonably accurate and consistent compass display for those of us whose device (in my case, the Lenovo Tab2 A10-70 tablet) does not have a built-in magnetometer sensor. The developer has also had to kindness to make his app advert-free.
