The MTN Widget allows you to:
1) View your MTN Zone discounts from your Android smartphone or tablet.
2) View your basic Airtime, SMS, and Internet balances.

An MTN Prepaid or Top-up customer may join MTN Zone for free by dialling *141*4*2# and can get attractive discounts up to 100% for local calls and SMSs
As an MTN Zone subscriber, you can view the applicable MTN Zone discounts in your Zone, at any point in time easily using the MTN Widget.
The MTN Widget displays the MTN Zone discounts applicable for local voice calls and local SMS (i.e. discounts are not for international/Premium Number calling).
The MTN Zone Widget requires a 3G/2G Mobile data connection to refresh the MTNZone discount values. This data usage is free while used locally in South Africa.
This version of the MTN Widget will not refresh the discount values over Wifi.
The MTN Widget application is free of charge however download data costs may apply.
Once the MTN Widget is installed on your phone, you will need to drag/add the Widget from the widget list to the home screen of your phone, to view the discounts.

It was a great widget then someone "fixed" it and made it terrible. Then MTN fixed it and made it better. Now they've mucked it up again. Someone in App Development is obviously bi-polar. The Widget used to be the ONLY thing good about MTN and they've taken that away

After installation it shows the data then freezes - even when the phone is restarted. My phone also says that the program is slowing down my phone and want to uninstall it automatically. I have a Samsung S5.

This is a very convenient app, but as of recent it keeps saying "... Widget has stopped working" on my Sony Xperia Z3. Then I can either send a report or cancel. Been using this app a while now and never had this issue. Will up my rating again when it stops "... has stopped working."

It was a great widget then someone "fixed" it and made it terrible. Nice to know, however, that MTN listens to their clients and took things back to the way that were. The widget is semi transparent and provides info on available airtime, sms, data, etc. It just sits there quietly, unobtrusively and does its job when you were connected to mobile data. No work required from you and no need to remember a USSD code every time you need to check your balances. Thank you, MTN, for heeding our call.

I loved this widget and used it daily to quickly check my balances and data bundles. The old widgets are gone and it now only displays zone discounts, which I don't use. Please fix it. UPDATE: Thank you for fixing it and bringing the old widgets back. It's working perfectly again. Back to 5 stars.

It constantly has a popup telling me that once off activation requires an active data connection. The popup itself is annoying because it covers the keyboard and stands there like a statue for a few minutes and theres no way to remove it. This happens each reboot. Galaxy s4 on cyanogenmod 11

Zone discounts cannot be disabled...even when placing it like they claim. Can't MTN do ANYTHING right ? Look at Vodacom's app to see how it's done. Repeatedly pops up with connection error messages for no apparent reason.
