About Smart Health
With the direct support and guidance of The Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Mobilium has designed and built the Smart Health Application for consumers - a collaborative content initiative focused on raising consumer awareness by providing accurate baseline information supporting behavioural change on MDG 4, 5, 6 issues to consumers across Africa. Included currently are sections that focus on HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, Injection Safety, Fake Medicines as well as a number of ancillary health and wellness topics. A mobile web based symptom checker, Isabel , listed in the NHS Choices Health Apps Library has been incorporated in the Smart Health application. Future releases will include information on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Nutrition, Hygiene, Non- communicable diseases The Smart Health application is available in English, French, Portuguese and Swahili. In-app access to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and email affords users the opportunity to say “We Count” and communicate, comment and highlight health related issues that they see and experience in their local environment.
The app will be available as a free download to African mobile subscribers/consumers and is aimed at enhancing the health, health maintenance, health behaviours and ultimately the future health of individuals and their communities across the continent. Our goal is to provide for mobile users in Africa a free, all-access health resource platform that informs as well as encourages safe behavioural practices that in turn will help reduce the transmission and infection rates of AIDS, Malaria and TB.
Mobilium along with its partners & supporters including The Global Fund, Akon, 2face, WLSA, GSMA, Fight the Fakes and Samsung and will provide an invaluable tool, bringing knowledge and empowering the hands of consumers all over the Africa.
