The ePhood Patient’s Application allows authorized pre-registered patients recruited in specific clinical trials, to navigate in their active clinical studies, add their daily dietary information and track their profiles and nutritional data, with calories and micro / macronutrients intake charts.
ePhood Patient’s Application present the following functions:

Login: credentials are provided to the patients after its recruitment in specific clinical trials using the ePhood web Platform as research tool
Active Study Selection: patients recruited in different study can navigate in the related section and choose the study of interest;
Profile: patients related information
Clinical Data: personal clinical anamnesis related to a specific study
Home: section listing the daily diet added and remaining days to compile for the specific study
Daily Diet: section allowing patients to add their daily dietary diary. Patients can add foods for six different types of meal by choosing from the Food Database synchronized with the web platform server. Each food added is provided with the amount of calories and macronutrients per portions.
Statistics: section allowing patients to track their nutritional information like calories and macronutrients intake per day

The mobile Application is based on a two way synchronization with the server, allowing users to interact with the platform directly through their mobile devices: patients can upload their nutritional information through platform tools, track their nutrition data and parameters and receive suggestions and notifications.
The Application implements some peculiar features like notification and graphs, and furthermore has a specific GUI designed for mobile use.
The ePhood Application represent the mobile version of the ePhood (electronic Phenotypes and Omics on Diet) Platform, a fully web based service platform able to register clinical trials patients, to collect their nutritional, clinical and lifestyle data, to compute dietary micro and macro nutrients intake and to correlate collected information with known phenotypes and standard profile.
ePhood is aimed at providing to patients personalized suggestions promoting healthy dietary and life style habits, taking into consideration the presence of high-risk profiles.
Thanks to the ability of collecting and analyzing information in a systematic way, ePhood is an ideal research support tool for clinical epidemiological and nutrigenomic studies: the platform allows the collection of dietary, clinical and «omics» data that can be easily extracted and processed by common statistical software.
ePhood is an adaptable technological platform, designed to fit different linguistic, geographic or cultural contexts and any peculiar dietary pattern.
The platform is based on scientifically validated contents obtained from different sources and providers: food data, food atlas, micro/macro nutrients composition, clinical profiles, lifestyle and nutrition standards and guidelines. ePhood stands as a landmark in the Sharing Economy field, allowing the use data tools and information obtained from established nutritional knowledge as well as the integration of new or future knowledge in the nutritional and nutrigenomics fields chosen according to the study design or context.
