PlayerXtreme Media Player - Movies & streaming for Android
I have only used this app a short time before i give my review, but i can see it is a very smart player. I had a bunch of files with audio sync problems that you can adjust manually..brilliant. I have alot of the popular format files and it plays them all at great quality and no stuttering. Very impressed
Solid media player, I read a review praising the app so I decided to try it out. Very pleased so far. It found my media servers on my network with no issue which is a big selling point for me. Plays the videos in their original format, no ads and so far its quite stable. Chromecast capability would be awesome. Great app.
Haven't even had a chance to try it out yet but wants a review for all the content so... here it is. Seems decent so far, wants to give me free stuff for a review so I'm good with that. Thumbs up!
Automatically found all of the videos on my phone for easy access, and plays them with good quality. The only gripes i have are 1) it tries to be a bit TOO smart by guessing at titles and cover art for my videos (and does so incorrectly, causing my tennis videos to be labeled as random movies) and 2) poor options for frame by frame viewing (no buttons to step forward and backward by a single frame) and changing the speed of video playback can cause you to miss a few frames. If #2 was fixed then I'd rate 5 stars
Yesterday i was able to play mp4 home videos, but today i get an error message on all network based videos that the player "stopped working" right at the start. Once this is fixed and chromecast is added for android, this seems to be one of the most intuitive (and fastest network reading) app to use for playing home videos from any location...
In general, seems well put together, and reasonably comprehensive. If I had to nit-pick, then being able to easily choose and/or stop/start at a *specific* point in the timeline of the respective media file one is checking out would be a useful addition - or did I miss something really obvious? For those inveterate tweakers and decorators out there, some ability to customise/skin as well. Then again, one has to also know when to stop and say enough is enough!
Pros: scanned and found network servers at once, loads videos quickly from network storage, can download subtitles. Cons: not at all intuitive, still searching for settings to adjust tiny app font, define gestures, etc.
A decent app that has a tendency to crash every now and again but only if I'm doing something with the app playing video in the background. When I try to download videos online it's give it take. It's good but not the best.
nice and promising player without ads. needs some improvements though. slow to load video thumbnails, can't use subtitles that has been downloaded separately. video playback forward/backward seek with swipe should be there. otherwise a great player
Cool to offer premium for a review but not cool to do it soon and I open the app before anything menu button gets clicked or media gets played. Delay it a bit for honest reviews.
Good versatile media player. Only have run into a few hiccups since switching from iPhone to Android version.
Great player, awesome sftp access (just what I was looking for). However: File explorer is very hard to use, with no way (that I could find) to set sorting options (and the default sort is backwards?! Why?), Or to view the files in a list instead of icons (can't tell the files apart with so little of their names visible). Also, after playback ends it goes back to the start of the file list instead of the last point viewed.
Very simple interface, supports most video formats. Only one thing lacking, Needs more options for changing the app settings
Does exactly what it says. Wish I had found it sooner!
tried app on tv box. very bad design. lot of features not working. really sad.
Still no fix for playing YouTube videos. The main reason I loved this app on my iPhone was because I could play YouTube videos by pasting in the link. Now that I changed to Android, the basic features which the iPhone version of the app had are either not present, or don't work entirely.
It's perfect for slowing down or speeding up the videos. HOWEVER, the main thing I needed was to be able to take screencaps. I don't see a button for that.
Just started using it, seems good so far. Adding movies to your library seems a bit clunky.
Great app! Plays all my files without conversion and displays them in poster view format with some pretty cool artwork.
Please add Chromecast and Airplay. That would be excellent! It is a great PLAYER, plays everything I can find with beautiful quality and no lags. I love that it can play videos from my NAS.
This is seriously an awesome app. It opened and played files that I thought were corrupt long ago. Come on, it's worth a shot.
I had been searching for such app that can play movies on my iPhone and My android phone as well this app is perfect does exactly what you want but can't download the entire folder on iphone hope to get the feature in future updates!
Needs vast improvement in terms of user interface as compared to MX PLAYER Videos cannot be played in background...Almost indispensable feature No sound boost No hardware acceleration I would rate it 0 in terms of user flexibility Only one thing is good...It has no ads
This App is a very pleasant surprise. The interface design is great and original. And you can see videos and listen and music, no need for 2 app for that. Worth it and enjoy it!
Had formerly several difficulties with playing videos. Now, with PlayerXtreme: no problems at all! And useful tools.
I was looking for a video player that could play a variety of formats, didn't contain ads, and had good subtitle support. PlayerXtreme does all that and much more.
Well I'm being told to post a review to unlock the premium features for free. Maybe I'll rate it 5✴️ after this but for now this... this is pretty bad. UPDATE: Still awful. Man, this is Android, not iOS. We are used to being able to tweak our apps. WHERE ARE THE APP SETTINGS?? Maybe I'll get them under Help... *Taps Help* 'Please enter your credentials'... What credentials for Christ's sakes!! This is a really really bad app.
Been using this app on my iPhone and ipad for a very long time. And each version update keep getting better and better
Way too different from iPad version -- video interface is the same but the library just looks awful and is difficult to sort... Even VLC mobile version is easier to wrangle, and it's pretty awful, and has the same features (subs, brightness gestures, Samba compatibility...). This app is king of iStore but Android just has so many other options :/ EDIT: where is the video clip option? Where is the screenshot option? It's less featured than the iPad version, now that I think of it!
Replaced mx player whose ads were out of control. Works great.
Looks promising, has all the right options for video controls, easy format I think this could a good video player as another option to the lame default video player you get on your phone.
Best player out there.0, plays most file types without converting. Rock solid on ipad but android version seems to crash on tablet frequently.
It was a great app. I didn't try many, but this one definitely is a good one. It's easier to use than others I've tried. If you're looking for a video player, I'd definitely recommend this one :)
Have this on iOS (iPad) and as it's brilliant at finding network drives and computers and then making all that media available to play/watch, without any hiccups, I decided to install it on my Android device (Xperia XZ) to use it as my main music/video player. It's just as good on Android as it is on iOS and I'm made up that I've switched. Highly recommended.
Smooth player, So far so good.. Only play a few urls but might just be the links. Please add chromecast capability. Also can't delete unused links. I would like to name link channels, ABC,CBS ect.. Why does your app logo keep spinning in the middle of the screen while I watch shows? Will update later
Just downloaded and straight away found network files which vlc has had trouble doing. Seems easy to use
Great Movie Player, plays most file formats. Also plays music so no need to install a separate app. On of the best movie players for andriod. Install, you won't be disappointed.
I needed media player for my new phone, and found this app and installed it. It's better than I thought it would be! Liked it very much so far!
One of the best All-in-one player. Throw any file to it and it plays, no matter what. However, it takes sometime in listing the contents of any folder.

It is loaded with features and is pretty straight forward. I don't see how to navigate to the SD card with the browse feature, though if you select the video or audio option then files from both internal and external memory are loaded. The only thing I didn't like was that playing videos makes my screen brightness go all of the way up and I don't see how to either keep that from happening or turn the brightness down a bit. Mind you, the system songs for screen brightness remain the same and even starting with the brightness turned all of the way down will still result in a blindingly bright screen. I love the features of this app but since I have a photosensitivity I may not be able to make use of this app.
