Etar - OpenSource Calendar for Android
Easily the cleanest and most functional calendar app I've used so far. Ability to simultaneously display a second date other than the Gregorian like Hijri or Hebrew would be great!
This app is so much more user-friendly than Google's calendar. The simple design is great and it's open source! I've been checking out alternatives for Google apps and this is the best calendar I've found. I would recommend it to everyone.
Smart looking and effective calendar app. Syncs with all my various Google calendars.
Simple and clean. Works well and is a great sunrise replacement
Etar is a straightforward open source calendar. It works like the AOSP calendar with the ability to write in events and sync to other services. The additional features compared to the stock AOSP are a cleaner design and some night mode features for those who want it. Overall it's an easy to use calendar with a clean design that works like the AOSP calendar.
Great Application. Works with Davdroid/CalDav to connect to Owncloud/Nextcloud server. I can now disable the stock google calendar application. I like the "agenda" view and the simplicity of the application. I am a heavy user of my calendar application on my phone to stay organized. Thanks to all the developers!!!
Clear, simple, like a calendar has to be. Just one feature is missing: the icon should show the current day rather than always 30 - like on my Palm Pre :-)
Very nice. Thanks for the Open Source calendar! The simple widget installed easily on Nova Launcher in Android 7.1.1. I like the pinch to zoom in the calendar view.
I'm using this to connect to next cloud calendar with open sync. Three devices over home WiFi. Works well, I love your work.
Thank you for the easy to use, working, open source calendar. I love the uncluttered interface.
Really like this app. So clean. Spotted an issue surrounding privacy settings. I can't set the default privacy? Default is public. I want the default to be private, as I share my calendar with people. If I forget them sometimes highly personal info is shared!
An updated version of the original AOSP one, perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. The flair pictures in Google calendar are annoying and unprofessional with no way to turn it off, so I switched to this. Thank you Suhail!
My finger on the top toolbar can very easily slide it off the top of the screen, after which there's no way to get it back short of relaunching the app by swiping it out of the Recents view... Stock Marshmallow 6.0.
Works with davdroid / owncloud wonderfully and it's free. Thanks to the developer!
I assume you built and distributed this out of the goodness of your heart. Thank you.
Like the simplicity of this app and the dark theme. Unfortunately, the app stops when you search calendar. Android 6.01 on Moto Z xt1650-03.
It's a 5 star app.
Really nice app, Android Wear support would be great.
Best calendar app
Very good calendar
Overall impressed with the layout and style of the calendar. I wish agenda widget can be polished more with customisable options like transparent header, text size of agenda items and day header.
4 rating becz I found some bugs.
Would love to see a dark theme :)
a dark theme would be great
way way better than the stock calendar in android 6
Had I known about this one earlier I'd have used this instead of Sunrise. It's simple, clean and open source; just what I wanted. I'm struggling a bit sharing a read/write calendar, but suspect that's more down to me than the app. Highly recommended.

I really like the look and feel of the app but events I schedule on the app do not sync to my Google calendar which has caused huge problems.
The widget needs an option to display the calendar by monthly view rather than just the agenda.
What the app store has been missing. A calendar not crowded with features I won't use, is beautiful, has an agenda widget, and is open source.
Would love to see on F Droid but still wonderful
Just as much as is required
this app is beyond good it's wholesome
Best calender out there, simple and not cluttered.
However, back-to-back events that are each 30 minutes in length position diagonally to each other (don't fit into single-hour boxes) if you zoom in too much. Lastly, you can't choose to NOT e-mail updates to guests. That's a big feature miss
However, it cannot pick smaller event intervals than 5 minutes, and back-to-back events that are each 30 minutes in length position diagonally to each other (don't fit into single-hour boxes) if you zoom in too much. This is very high quality, but I wish it could open ICS files, e.g. attached to emails.

Etar - OpenSource Calendar was until recently, my primary calendar because it supports Calendaring Extensions for WebDAV ("CalDAV")... And in this respect, Etar - OpenSource Calendar still works quite well. I have however, switched to Simple Calendar (also Open Source) because it requests access to fewer permissions and I prefer the design. This is not to say that Etar - OpenSource Calendar is a bad application, just that I prefer Simple Calendar. If you want something to replace Google Calendar or whatever came with your mobile device, my first recommendation would be Simple Calendar, followed closely by this... But don't take my word for it - install both and see which you prefer!
