ShutApp offer you a set of services:
*** Popups: Standard and overlay (requires Android 4.1+)
****** These allows the reading of pending messages WITHOUT UPDATING the LAST SEEN and avoiding BLUE DOUBLE CHECK
*** Chats: allows the reading of pending messages in a window WITHOUT UPDATING the LAST SEEN and avoiding BLUE DOUBLE CHECK
*** Voice: Read WhatsApp messages with Text to Speech (requires Android 4.1+)
*** Stop & Restart: put WhatsApp offline through the 'Force Stop' method and restarts it with a click

Explanation
-----------------
Popup messages
-------------------------
when you receive a chat message ShutApp will raise a popup that will allow you to read the text WITHOUT UPDATING THE LAST SEEN.
*** Important: you'll be able to read ALL the message text not just a part (as in the notification) and you're NOT limited to 7 messages as normal notification is.
Two types of popup exist: normal and overlay (see images).
The first one is a normal - scrollable - popup.
The second option creates an overlay panel thay DOES NOT INTERRUPT your current activity. Even you can read incoming messages while chatting in another conversation.
In both cases you can chose the order of the messages.
Also in both cases, clicking the X icon will discard the conversations and the / icon will postpone message (if you want to read them later).
Another option allows you to read the messages when the phone is locked.
There exists an option to disable popup for specific contacts or groups.
Chats
--------
The chat window allow you to read all the messages without updating last seen not sending blue double check to the other person.
Voice
--------
ShutApp has the ability to read your incoming messages (useful when driving, or running for example). Set per-contact language or disable this option for some of them.
Stop and Restart
-----------------------
* Force Stop easily allows you to stop WhatsApp and restart it when you want (100% effective)
Moreover
--------------
MOREOVER a set of widgets allow you to interact with the app without launching it.
ShutApp allows you also to create a shortcut to start WhatsApp. This shortcut will open it if already running and will ask you if you actually wants to open it if it is stopped.
This avoid accidental opens.

This will not stop you receiving messages on whatsapp if your on wifi. This app is not really an app at all, it's just a shortcut to settings so you can stop the app.

When I use it to stop WhatsApp, WhatsApp starts up again when a new message comes in. I dont want it receiving messages when I shut it off, that's the whole point!

It's kinda a good app, the features or ideas are great. But I'm having some problems with it. As soon as I activate accessibility for the app, my tablet starts reading some stuffs in some places on the system like my default email or the homepage when I swipe to another homepage (e.g.: it reads "page three O four" or something when swiping homepages). Also, when deactivating ghost mode, it turns on mobile data and bluetooth too instead of just my wifi or what was on before activating ghost mode. Also, sometimes it does not show me popups even when I activate them and I've made sure the app is allowed to read notifications and has accessablility but still no popups most of the time even when I'm notified in the sidebar of new WhatsApp messages.
