Portland Bus 2 -TriMet tracker

I've had a difficult time finding a good Trimet bus app for Android. This one is the best by far. One thing I miss from the iPhone app was tracking the bus, but I don't need that now since there is a notification letting me know :) nice job!

For Portland-area commuters that use the same routes every day, it's hard to beat this app. However, there are several weird UI quirks that haven't been addressed in months (MAX Orange line has a bus icon, train icons and bus icons look way too similar, stop markers on the map are difficult to see) and the developer is MIA. For people who are less picky than me, this app works just fine, but so does TriMet's mobile website. I've gone back to using the Transit app until these bugs are addressed.

You need some sort of filter or approval system for the user-uploaded photos of stops. Some jackass is changing every station picture to a Trump 2016 poster. And/or porn. So unless that's what you want everyone to see when they use your app, you might want to change it.

I have used this program for years with minimal problems. When the "I'm with Trump" banners started, it was time to say goodbye. NO app should contain political banners, especially when they could be seen by others, giving them the impression that you support that candidate too.

The original app was functional but a bit clunky. The new version is nicely polished and I love the merging of the lines for each stop. The map search for stops and stop IDs is very useful. Keep up the good work!

Great for checking regular stops you've saved. Finding nearby stops is a total pain; it takes you to a map covered in icons and you have to zoom in just to differentiate between them, and then if there a lot of different stops/lines (like Portland's transit mall) and you don't know where your stop is, it's a hunt-and-peck game to find the right one. If it handled nearby stops like the Transit app, but was more reliable, it would be nearly perfect. User photos are a horrible feature that needs to be removed.

The older version was so much better, this one has UI problems. For one: when I go to search a stop by it's number, (tapping the thing up top) I get a full qwerty keyboard, which is useless, as I'm only putting in a stop number. Even if i do actually enter numbers with the text keyboard, the app is never able to find the stop. There's other problems too. Mr Villa: if you got a job or something and can't put in the hours, that's cool, open source this app, or hire some folks :)

I wish it displayed the scheduled times. Also, a legend would be nice. Sometimes the times are in different colors or they have symbols, but nothing tells you why or what they mean.

He removed the reminder that let you know before the bus arrives, and replaced it with a reminder like an alarm that doesn't work.

Since the recent update, I am finding that it takes a while for my favorites to load and it's not very user friendly. I miss being able to punch in stop ID to pull up the times and I am not seeing this option available. I also liked seeing where the buses were on the map and it doesn't look like that feature is available anymore. I'm going to look for a different app

Best way to live-track your PDX adventure via pub-transit!

It looks well organized, but doesn't appear to load any schedule data.

Great interface and so far pretty accurate with the times. One improvement you should make is the ability to sort favorites. I don't like having to scroll down to find the busses I use the most.

Gone from 5 to 2. The streetcar lines are now at the bottom. My world is close to confluences of the MAX and the Streetcar. It is not a matter of 'favorite' stops, but where the cars are. Having to scroll all the way thru the routes? Would like to favorite routes. This is cumbersome.

Really beautiful App! But needs some work. Force closes when pressing the map button while looking at a particular line, won't let me save favorites sometimes while letting me other honest (maybe it doesn't like stops with more than one servicing the?), but so far I like it. We'll see what happens if these bugs don't get fixed.

I like the app but lately if i go to open it it freezes then just closes the app it takes like five min just to get it open

Easy to not only use, but personalize as well. I've tried a few tracker apps for trimet, this one is the best.

Changed my life

With the recent revision, this app has turn amazing. Looks awesome, lag in the app is gone, sorts favorite stop by current location (I don't know how many times I realized too late that I was looking at the wrong stop), the "search stops by location" works better now, and quiet notifications will tell you stop times of nearby favorites. Simply awesome.

That new updated version is, to say the least, Crap and I'm about to find another and I network a lot, I'm not going to suggest it unless there us a way to obtain original app

Definitely my favorite&go-to transit app. Patiently waiting for this update to fully loaded after many tries, but I know its well worth the wait.

Excellent app, but no trip planner

I'm a daily TriMet commuter, and this is easily my #1 favorite public transit app. The recent version 2 redesign/recode is gorgeous, but there are still a few minor bugs being worked out. Thankfully, the developer is extremely responsive and open to receiving feedback and feature requests.

I love this app now that it's been updated and more user friendly! I definitely give it a high five. It's Great now. Best Trimet app ever !

But this new version removed the GPS locations of buses in the nearby map. My bus is never on time and I have come to rely on the GPS location to know if I can walk to the stop or if I have to run. Please bring the bus location feature back.

The best app, I'm never late anymore and the design is a huge plus. Very clean interface and easy to use.

Great app update. Seems to have improved everything on an already terrific app. Notification icon is black, though, which makes it almost impossible to see.

Brilliantly made app

But it crashes every time I use the "I'm on this bus" feature, right after selecting a destination. LG Lucid phone. If fixed, I could see this being an excellent app. EDIT: also crashes if you set an alarm notification on any bus.

Love it. .and it's about 99.2 % accurate!!! That's better than any other app I've ever had.... Crashes when I close the app but I would force close it if it didnt...perfect app for any bus/max rider... GREAT JOB! Now make a weather app that's just as accurate... IMPOSSIBLE...yet a challenge.

Needs a tutorial. It opens suggesting I add a favorite route, but the only symbol onscreen is a bus; when selected none of the 3 links add a route. Looking at the menu I don't see how the menu items work. The TriMet app works much better than this

Was my favorite of the Trimet apps for a long time, but with yesterday's update, it just stopped working on my phone. I don't have time to wait for a fix, so it's on to the next app!

If it didn't keep getting a black screen and freezing up I would have given it 5 stars. Fix the bug and it would be a great app.

I like having the ability to have my favorite stops appear on the home screen. I recommend this to all my fellow riders!

Would be nice if they could show you the nearest stop to your location. Pretty much only shows schedules for the station you already know of.
