Delete Empty Contacts

Noticed a huge amount of empty contacts for which I accuse Outlook (or Android syncing). Ran the app and stopped it as I could not believe the count number. So many! After a while all empty contacts were gone. Maybe good if the app first tells how many. Now I was a bit shocked during the process. Better be informed before it does something. But most important: I am fine again!

After a recent (Telstra, Note 4) OTA update, had hundreds of (no name) contacts. Real ones were there too, but hard to find amongst the junk. This just works. Not sure if it makes a difference, but before you run it, it might be an idea to check that all your contact accounts (both Hotmail and Google, in my case) are displayed first, as there are no options in this app, - as soon as you open it, it gets to work. Don't worry, - even if you've got numbers stored without names, they're safe, - it only deletes completely empty records. Perfect fix! Thanks dev, for making it free, and for making it ad-free.

Even the Samsung rep at my local Vodafone branch was unable to help but this little app did the job so fast. I knew how many I had as I'd checked on Gmail backup, so unlike some, I was not shocked at just how many were deleted. Thanks for writing it!

It works! I have a Nexus 6 using Google's project fi. I had hundreds of empty contact which I manually deleted but then more empty contacts came back. Until the apps developers figure out what the problem is, this little script cleans up the mess. Well done Wolfen531

I must have sync'd something I shouldn't have and suddenly had 300+ "unknown" in my contacts. 30 seconds with this app made it all right. Not elegant, no fancy menus - actually no menus at all - but like the saying goes, it just works. Thank you!

This app did a fantastic job removing unknown contacts. People who gave a lower rating because it doesn't merge contacts are idiots because they didn't read the description! Thank you so much for writing this simple yet effective app!

Does what it claims and does it fast. Saved me from deleting about 650 empty contact files, and didn't pester me with ads or anything. Norton Scan was clean too...

Just does what it says: simple and straight to the point. It could only have a rollback feature or give you the option to review the changes to be done.

Had a lot of empty contacts through my Hotmail account for some reason and this app deleted them straight away, both my phone and tablet. Simple and easy to use.

Very simple tool, but great for the purpose. Starts deleting empty contacts the moment it is opened. No user interaction, just tells progress and when it is done. Perfect for the need I had after Microsoft Outlook app pushed over 5600 empty contacts onto my phone! (5618, to be precise.)

Downgraded from a Samsung Grand Prime to an S4 switching from Straight Talk to Verizon. Didn't have Sync turned on cause that's usually a mess ... and then some. Turned Sync on so Outlook Mail would function and BAM! Had this HUGE list of Unknown Name in the Contacts. Would literally take me a day+ to go through long-tap hold, delete, confirm, repeat. Do did a Google search for "delete mass unknown name phone" thinking perhaps was a way I could select them all and hose them. That's how I found this app a few minutes ago. I'd gladly send the developer a buck or two for this app!

The latest sync with hotmail created over 400 empty contact and this cleaned them up quick and easy. Thank you!

Jesus this was quick! Install and open and it starts straight away, for me it went through about 900 contacts and deleted 100 duplicates in around 2 seconds 10/10 would use again

Had "unnamed" contacts appearing in address book on my HTC 10. Couldn't detect where they were coming from but ran app and they were removed. Great!

Best, most useful app I've ever downloaded. I love the fact that it doesn't ask you any stupid questions like "are you sure?" Of course I'm sure or I wouldn't have run the app!

My husband's phone had nearly 1400 no name contacts that appeared out of nowhere. This took care of them wonderfully.

This does exactly what it says it will do. It removed approximately 2 thousand Unknown contacts from my phone. After use, I uninstalled.

A little frightening because not many pre delete prompts but woosh gets rid of all those odd empty contacts that are created in Google android when pulling your contacts from web mail

Deletes those pesky "unknown name" contact entries you may have cluttering your contacts. Works quickly and has no options. Just what I needed.

I don't know where they came from, but this app effortlessly cleaned them up. As ll I did was click on "OPEN" and it went to town. Awesome!

After upgrading from an S3 to a S5 I had hundreds of "Unkown name" entries. I did all the un-syncing tips online. They didn't go away. This dude NUKED them! Thank you for writing this app.

This Ap did not work! I have a Motorola Droid 2 & after trying to delete 'unknown' contacts, it said it processed 562 & deleted 0. I am very disappointed!

My phone started to multiply no name contacts and there wasn't even an option to delete them like normal contacts in the google phone app. Thankfully I found this app through XDA and it deleted all 70 of the no name contacts almost instantly.

Deleted 480 blank contacts that appeared all of a sudden in my phone as (no name) in seconds with no b.s. or extra fluff. Did exactly what itnsaid it would do. Awesome job. Thanks for the app!
