About Toggle Lock

This app is designed to enable you to toggle your phone security from enabled to disabled and back again without having to go through the device settings menus. This is very useful if you do not like having to enter your security PIN, Pattern or Password when you are at home, but then want to easily enable security with a single click when you leave home so that your device is safe when you are out.

The app includes a setup screen and a re-sizable 1x1 toggle widget.

The widget can be used to quickly toggle the security setting between enabled and disabled. The widget shows green when security is enabled, and red when security is disabled.

Display notifications can be set on or off to show when security has been disabled. If notifications are set to on, a warning icon is displayed in the notification bar when security is disabled (note, not when security is enabled). The notification can then be selected to quickly re-enable security.

Note that when you re-start your device, even if you had previously disabled security, you will be required to enter your PIN, Pattern or Password. After you have keyed the code in the first time after re-start, the security will then be automatically disabled again if that was the setting before you switched your device off.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
★ When designing this app, it was not possible to leave a slide or swipe only screen in place when security is disabled, as the security programming settings within Android only allow me to turn off security completely, rather than change the type of security that is currently set. Some people have fed back that it would be useful to leave the slide or swipe security screen in place, but I'm afraid that this is just not possible with the programming settings available within Android.
★ Samsung seem to have de-activated some of the security programming settings within some of their versions of Android, which means that whilst my app works on some versions of Samsung's Android software, and many other manufacturer's phones, the app does not appear to work on many Samsung versions of Android. I'm afraid this is down to Samsung, not my app, and unfortunately there is nothing that I can do to make my app work in these instances.
★ In Android version 4.0.n (ICS), when device security is disabled, selecting a notification will display the lock screen. This is a known bug in this version of Android. Once you have re-entered your pattern, PIN or password, device security will be disabled again without having to toggle security settings manually.

update: doesn't work on Android 6, so 3 stars. It also disables "swipe to unlock" on Android 5 when the security is off, which is extremely handy and saves hundreds of swipes per day!

I love this app, however, to bring it to the next level would be to add a feature where the phone would auto lock or auto unlock based on time of day. Example: you like your phone locked while at work. You can choose a setting for days of the week and times of the day.

L70%

Lack of features and service launches on startup without your permission. Unable to remove the basic android recent apps list (which is annoying) but can run on startup?

This seems to be per the Samsung caveat in the author's description of the product, although it would save some Samsung owners some time/trouble if that caveat were up front instead of buried in the text.

Works fine on my phone (Droid Maxx). Would be nice though if it would toggle between real security and slide to unlock, instead of having no slide.

My galaxy s4 on Verizon got a new android update recently and I'm running the the latest and greatest OS... but after years of working, this thing just stopped. It'll toggle on the widget, but the phone always locks regardless.

This app is nearly what im looking for, but please can you make the app shortcut also a locker switch like the widget instead of opening an interface, you can leave the notification ON by default or create a shortcut for settings like that. Please consider my suggestion thx :D

I loved this on my HTC M7 but it doesn't work on the LG G4. Rated 3 stars just for neutrality because it's not the developers fault with so many android variations. If it works for you, you're lucky and enjoy it.

Very good, works 100% but the widget looks very ugly, this is not really a problem but I would like if the colors were more "mature." Also I would like the widget to be a bit smaller. All in all a great app thanks!

But needs more options. Turning off security should activate the swipe. Found my phone on this morning because of a game notification. If the swipe was active the phone would have gone back to sleep.

Does absolutely nothing on my Note 3. I even tried different security settings, but the lock screen is unaffected either way.

Works as described, I use this at home when I'm sure nobody else will touch my phone. Sometimes for some reason the screen lock gets turned on despite having it disabled through the widget.

Exactly what I was looking for because when I get in the car I like to keep the phone unlocked so I can use voice dialing & then togle the lock screen back on when I get out. Like another review said, it would be great if we had the option of keeping the slider on the lock screen without a code or just bypassing the lock screen like the app does. I have times when I would use it both ways. I'm using it on a HTC One.

But after I rebooted my device, it works like a charm. This is exactly what I have been looking for! Update - Stopped working once upgraded to 4.3 have to uninstall.

During the few times this app worked, it was very helpful. However, on my Moto X, I would usually get the password screen when touch lock was supposed to have the phone unlocked. This app has potential if they can get it to work.
