About WiFly
WiFly is a research project from students in Aqualab at Northwestern University and students at Northeastern University. WiFly is an application which crowdsources the measurement of in-flight WiFi performance. Currently very little is known about the network performance that the user experiences while connected to in-flight WiFi aside from anecdotal evidence. In addition to measuring the network while you're connected in-flight, WiFly provides information on the network performance of other flights' in-flight WiFi that we've collected in order to contribute to a more transparent view of the experienced performance of in-flight WiFi.
****WiFly asks for information on your calls and phone state because it is required to in order to record your device ID. This is used to keep track of data and is in no way used to actually gather any information on your calls.****
