* Wifi Privacy prevents your smartphone from sending out the names of Wi-Fi networks it wants to connect to over the air. This makes sure that other people in your surroundings can not see the networks you've connecte to, and the places you've visited.
* If your smartphone encounters an unknown access point with a known name (for example, a malicious access point pretending to be your home network), it asks whether you trust this access point before connecting. This makes sure that other people are not able to steal your data.

I like it a lot and used for the last three years or so on different phones. but it has been very frustrating experience to use it on OnePlus 5t with Android 8 the most recent update from Jan 2018. It makes wifi drain battery like crazy. It can chew up to 13% in two-three hours. As soon as uninstall the wifi module battery consumption goes to typical 1-3 % for a half of the day. Installed it back again and battery drainage is back.
