About Copy To Read - Text to Speech

Don't want to read things yourself?

With Copy To Read - Text to Speech, simply copy some text, then listen as the text you copied is read back to you through text to speech. This text reading app can read text from any app, as long as the app grants you the ability to copy the text that you want spoken. It couldn't be any easier to have text spoken aloud to you. No need to import text into an app to have it read to you. While the text is being read to you, a notification will be displayed that you can tap on to stop reading at any time or tap the pause button to pause reading. You can also click the skip forward and backward buttons on the notification to skip through sentences within the text you copied. So no need to worry about accidentally copying text that you don't want to be spoken to you through text to speech.

How to use Copy To Read - Text to Speech?

Option 1 (Android 4.1+):
1. Start the Copy To Read Service (flip the toggle switch in the app or use the widget)
2. Copy some text to your clipboard (from any app)
3. Sit back and listen as the text you copied is read out loud by your phone to you

Option 2 (Android 6.0+) - Using a floating "Speak" button like in iOS:
1. Highlight some text by holding your finger down on it (from within any app)
2. Tap the "Speak" button within the floating menu (the menu that contains the copy button)
3. Sit back and listen as the text you highlighted is read out loud by your phone to you
- Note: this method only supports reading text up to 1000 characters long due to a limitation in the Android framework. Sorry.

Super buggy. I have an lg g5 on 7.0 and this is sooooooo buggy. I can't highlight anything when this is off. When I turn it on, it goes off by itself. There is no persistent notification even though i have it set in the settings. Great concept but this is a complete FAIL. Update: That's what I did, your app is BROKEN.

TO THE DEVELOPER: If I could give you 15 Stars I would!! IPhone has this ReadBack feature and I searched the entire internet for something like this for Android. This helps soooo much with my dyslexia, and prevents me from rereading something 4 to 5 times just to get the understanding of it. God bless your heart bro, your a blessing to many. What all the apps do you have?

J70%

But it could really do some improvement in the voice quality itself. I have several apps that use voice synthesizers, and they seem to be crisp and clear. But I don't know why this particular app does not hook up to that. But I'm sure that in time it will improve.

Awesome app! I really missed having the "Speak Text Selection" feature on iOS. This is the best alternative I've found for Android, hands down! Way better than "Talk" app I used to use. Best part is it's automatic and works in the background. Super easy to use. The developer is awesome and responds to feedback. He's actively updating the app and adding features. This will only get better with Android M!

Z70%
by Z####:

All I have to do is hit copy on something and its read out! Works so good and fast on my g3. And I love that it doesn't read out phone numbers and URLs if I don't want it to.
