Quickdroid Search

The best android phone search. Simple and adfree. I have its widget on home screen and also set the home button long press to open it. Highly recommended. No annoying web search results. Saves a lot of time.

Despite the lack of updates, this is the best app search I could find.

I downloaded this once a few years back when the launcher I was using wouldn't register anything I was installing in its apps listing. A handful of phones later, I realise this is always one of THE first apps I install on every new device and not just as a solution for launcher bugs. So simple, so accessible and super useful. Hooray for this!

Love this app!

Allow to set priority between apps / contacts etc... As opposed to just on or off. For example, if apps are set at top priority, apps will always show above contact results, even if contact results produce a stronger match.

This is what exactly I'm looking for, since I lost the option to disable "web suggestion" of the Google search box on the Kitkat desktop. I feel so angry with this new setting of Google search box, HATED IT. If you want to search only what is in your android device, try this app. It's fast, simple and I haven't seen any "pop up" advertisement yet. I use Nova Launcher to trash that persistence Google search box then put this app search widget in return. Thank you very much, Daniel ... thank you in deed. 10 stars ! PS : please.. no need to update anything this already perfect app.

Nice work application. but search categories in Gallery images not. Plz. After update is 5 ☆.plz fast update.

The only one i use to find in phone apps and create shortcut on home screen.

This has replaced the app drawer for me for anything not important enough to be on my home screen. Having contacts in there is also very convenient.

We often times take for granted we will find the application we are looking for but the reality is that we will just waste time swiping back and forth. This application has saved me thousands of seconds that I would have otherwise wasted swiping. Those thousands of seconds would have become months of my life wasted doing nothing, just like it happens when we wait for a video to load or an old PC to boot. This application is a priceless shortcut.

Google search is terrible at searching local content and oddly enough the app drawer has no search feature. This gives you fast and accurate launchy style app searches one swipe away. Solves an embarrassing android shortcoming. However, the widget is hideous :)

I like it because is very fast, but I usually search for files, folders.

After my home screen, this is the most used app I have. After having it I shudder to think how I could launch apps anyway else! 10 stars! Just wish there were more updates and more features, a la Linux Zeitgeist

It cannot find contacts by company name, notes or other than correct name.

I used to seriously love this app but recently I have found that there are certain things it just will not find. I can go to my contacts and search for a name and it comes right up. If I put the same name in quickdroid it never comes up. What's the deal devs?

Perfect for users of Alfred or Quicksilver. You just open Quickdroid and type in the app you'd like to open. I use this with Nova Launcher,and I've set up a double tap on the homescreen which opens Quickdroid. I haven't used my app drawer in months.

I have couple of launchers with Apex set as the default. It does not create shortcut on any of them. Please fix and add SMS search. Thanks. Note 3 jb4.3

Gives fine-grained control of how matching is performed. Only app of its kind that is able to find an app by a substring that occurs midway through.

Easier to use than all the other launcher. Similar to Launchy on Windows. Just start typing app name and quickly find apps. Keep up the good work and thanks for such a useful app.

If it worked it would be great as there is no search function on the S3 (4.1.1). Searches of contacts give random results: very fast but incomplete, only about 50% of searches work. Also it would be good if it could search the calendar. One for the delete key I’m afraid.
