MediaShare Wireless

I've been using this for a while, and I love the device. However, since the last update I can't access the app without needing to allow the app to access my contacts and be able to make and manage phone calls (among other things). Why does a device that allows me to stream music need to be able to make phone calls or access my contacts? Why would I want to allow an app to do that for no reason? And why can't I access the app without granting these permissions? Completely unacceptable state of affairs.

The old version was ok but now why in HELL would an app like this need access to contacts and phone and it days it needs the abillity to make calls screw that. Is this how all the scam calls are done now? Just take that part out at least. Also only 1 star now because you cant give negative stars.

Why all the new permissions with the new update? I don't understand what it needs contacts etc for?

Allow the app to my contacts, record audio, make calls? Seriously, this app should be reported

I've had my Mediashare for some years, now and have always been pleased with it. Today you issued a software update, which I regrettably installed - it is broken. It won't run. It just reports that Mediashare Wireless "has stopped" or "keeps stopping". Please (re-)release a working version tout de suite.

Great app if running out of space. I use 500GB External hard drive and 64GB SD Card with my old 16GB iPad. Brought it back from the rubbish cupboard. I also use it with my Nexus 5 which is also very short of space.

DOESN'T WORK ON NOUGAT ANDROID 7 ....... Bought the bloody hardware after recommends from Amazon and Google.. ... worked for 10 days then... boom...... error on start-up.. ... sort it out this was a great app for a great bit of kit but now made the hardware an expensive battery backup ..... SORT IT OUT !

If you have Nougat and this app crashes dowload Mediashare Mini instead. Mediashare Mini wont crash and will work with the regular mediashare hardware.

Is support for this app now at an end? The software has been updated by the manufacturer and it no longer works rendering our hardware good for the landfill? Such a shame when useful tech becomes obsolete :"(

Your recent app update for android caused lots of problems. Now I can't use this device. Please fix the app problem as I really like this device and want to continue using it.

My hardware is now useless because this app fails to run on Android devices. Please fix this issue soon.

Doesn't work with latest Android software update. Also doesn't cater for selection of multiple folders, or handling of duplicate files previously copied.

The software has stopped working on samsung s6 on android 7. Annoyed as now useless and was great..

Worked fine untill my phone did an update now won't work at all. It was a great app as i do a lot of traveling.

Works OK, I unless you forget your user login details. I would appreciate help in resetting use login details.

Used this product successfully for a while, but had a problem when I changed to a later phone and OS version. Turned out to be caused by mobile data auto switching on when I connected to Mediashare by wireless. Turning off mobile data solved the problem.

Could not it to do what I purchased it for. I wanted to use it for mass storage from my SD cards during a long trip & then transfer to permanent storage when I got home. There are such limited instructions & help online that it renders this piece of kit useless. Even when seeking help from more IT savvy folks they were unable to help.

This app is very functional and allows you move, copy and stream files on your wireless drive reasonably easily when you get used to it...getting to like it even more having used it for over a week: )

I am using the Verbatim Mediashare Wireless with my Galaxy Note 3 and Note 8. The setup was easy though accessing the internet through the device took a couple of reboots. Very intuitive app.

poor sharing, no windows interface, it would be cheaper and better just buying a bigger sd/micro-sd card

WELL I KNEW THE NEXT PHONE I GOT WAS GOING TO BE WAY DIFFERENT FROM MY NOTE 3 FIRSTLY A. C PORT CONNECTION NOT THE USUAL MINI USB B TYPE AND NO CARD SLOT NOW WASNT SURE ABOUT THIS SO GOT IT AND TRIED WITH MY NOTE YAY IT WORKED ITS A LITTLE LONG WINDED SETTING IT ALL UP BUT WORKED BETTER WITH MEDIA TO PHONE AND VICE VERSA THAN WITH TO PC WAS OK SO GOT MY NEW PHONE AND THAT,S WHERE THE TROUBLE HAS BEGAN AND NOT SORTED YET PRESENTLY VERBATIM WERE UNAWARE OF ANY ISSUES BUT NO IF YOU HAVE A NEXUS 6P IT DOES NOT WORK AT PRESENT THEY ARE PRESENTLY DOING TESTS AND DIAGNOSTICS TO SEE IF A PROBLEM I HAVE INFORMED THEM THERE IS I,M AWAITING A RESPONSE

Nothing to add. Should not require effort to connect.

You must set up your device through a web client fist before this app will work.

Time for an interface update please.
