Do you want to know where to see Veronese's heartbreaking last work? Or Giovanni Bellini's? These are located in free to enter churches off the main thoroughfares of Venice, and this app will guide you straight to them using the built-in Google Maps navigation!
Who was Tintoretto? Why did Pordenone take to painting while wearing armour? Learn the legend of the time a pope slept rough in the alleys of Venice! Over 150 artists are featured, with biographies and a list of sites where you can see their work.
All of this will cost you €1.99 plus tax, which varies. 50c of that will go to the amazing Save Venice charity, that has restored many of the works described in the app.
Using the app couldn't be simpler - browse the Highlights, browse by Sestiere (neighbourhood) of Venice, or use the built in search function.
Hundreds of the most significant works catalogued feature detailed notes explaining the history of the works, the identities of the figures, the stories being told and more. Just tap on a work, and read away.
