About Broadlink RM Plugin

Broadlink RM controller are cheap controllers able to learn & retransmit IR and RF signal, making it possible to control several home appliances with ease.
However, it has never been possible to program and customized the experience outside of their proprietary Broadlink eControl apps.
Not any more! With this Tasker plugin, you can configure these RM Controller to work exactly the way you want it, when you want it.
Friendly APIs are provided for custom integration with whatever home automation system you are using.

☑ Compatibility
Compatible with Broadlink RM2, RM Home, RM Pro, RM3 Mini (BlackBean), SP2, SPMini, Contros, A1.
S1 & other sensors might by supported in future versions.

☑ Widget
This let you add a widget/button on your home screen to directly control Broadlink RM at a few simple clicks.

☑ Amazon Echo Integration
This app acts as a bridge between your Amazon Echo & Broadlink devices and let you control supported Broadlink devices with your voice. Simply enable this feature & tell Alexa to "discover devices".

☑ HTTP Bridge
This app acts as a HTTP Bridge and let you control your Broadlink devices via simple HTTP urls (a.k.a curl commands). API syntax are extremely user-friendly and well-documented right inside the app. It is now much easier to integrate RM device into your home automation setup.

☑ Web Console [Beta]
Manage your devices & code via the built-in web interface powered by HTTP Bridge.
If you want to access it remotely, simply turn on port-forwarding on your router and use Basic Authentication to protect your access.

☑ 3G Bridge (version 0.8.0 and above)
You can control your Broadlink RM devices even from outside of your home WiFi network, as a Tasker plugin or a homescreen widget. You'll simply need to enable a Bridge device within your home WiFi network. Refer to screenshot and in-app FAQ for more details.

☑ Import existing data from Broadlink app
You don't have to painstakingly re-learn all the IR or RF you have done with Broadlink eControl app. This plugin takes data directly from Broadlink eControl app without you having to manual copy & paste anything. Once you're done with that, you can even uninstall Broadlink eControl app entirely.

☑ Free trial
You have 7 days to try out the unlocked version for free! Please download it separately from here: http://bit.ly/rm_trial

WARNING:
This app can be used both as a plugin in Tasker or a standalone app.
We do not officially support any other automation app except Tasker. We will not answer your support request related to apps like MacroDroid, Locale, etc.

- The wigets come back by update 1.8.8, but it still take too long to respond (10, 20 seconds or even never). This might be the server problem, please kindly improve.

I have waiting for the MP1 support and after the update it is finally working, but all the widgets that I created are gone now , maybe you should add a backup option

You rock. I am Using the app for a while and is getting better and better. Today I see a tasker app integration skill for amazon echo hopefully you can do the same and create a skill for the Amazon Echo with this app Rm Plugin

Since I upgraded to Nougat, Tasker tasks often have trouble triggering the plugin. Also, when editing/adding the plugin in Tasker - the checkmark and the cross symbol (for accepting or rejecting changes) are gone... Edit: reinstalled the plugin after cleaning the cache, so far - so good... Also, like the developer pointed out, the checkmark and the cross icons are still up there, only barely visible (I didn't see them and was hitting the back button instead, so the changes I made were not registered).

It doesn't reach all the scenes the device has, nor do all of them work. I purchased the app for this feature, but it's just not working. Disappointing.

Love this App, makes the RMpro much more useful. However since the last update, I am having to get my Amazon Echo to discover devicez every day in order to stop the Alexa devices created by the Alexa Bridge from going "offline" as far as Alexa can connect to them. No actual changes needed on the app though. Can this be fixed?

X70%
by X####:

Great app/plugin! It makes Alexa even smarter. However, is it possible to add support for the Broadlink S1(alarm nd sensors) and the Broadlink MP1 (extension cable). I have those devices and I will be really maximizing my smarthome if those 2 devices are intergrated. Thanks in advance. Kudos to the developers!

This is the ONLY app I have ever purchased. It is absolutely fantastic with what I have been able to do with it., I have it controlling (via Alexa) some lamps via RF sockets, main lights via an 12v 18 channel relay setup in the loft.....The TV......TV channels.....Soundbar including inputs and volume....There is nothing it has failed to control....Get a bit of an inconsistent response, Just set it up to send the code twice, worked for me on an iffy inline RF relay. Money well spent. Thank you developers. *Virtual Manhug sent* :)

This app.used to work great on 1.6.8 but auto upgraded, wiped my Alexa Device List command and refuses to sync from the old version. What's worse is I can't recreate my missing Alexa commands because there is no longer an Alexa Device List option on the main menu. Really annoying as I started to build my home automation around this app!

Up until 1.7.6 update (device reports 1.7.7 ???) I would have given this top marks. However, after updating from 1.6.8 to 1.7.6 all my Alexa devices vanished. I couldn't restore them from another device or even add them back in manually. Had to clear app data and cache before it would import from another device. Even after that, still had to reassign the ON/OFF codes to each device again. Also drops 1 star as there is no facility to backup to file or cloud which would be easier to restore from than relying on having a second Android device.

Had it a few days and worked great then all alexa devices disappeared. Very disappointed now as it took some time to add them :(

Great app. Very good support from devs just allow for time zone differences. The app is easy to use, even for novices like myself. If you create an account at originally.us it does back up the data you create. Clear the app data and cache in application manager as a workaround for the upgrade. Then restart the app to download your data. After this, all my devices reappeared . Alexa also works just as fast with rm tasker as it does with my hue bridge . The Macro feature is quite addictive as well. I have a macro to turn the tv, sky, surround and ir led strip lights on . Set them all to the correct channels and turn the leds onto red and green. The look on people's faces when you ask alexa to turn the football on is priceless. I have x10, homeeasy rf , energenie switches, maplins plug in adaptors, a lightwaverf switch and ir led striplights all working through the rm2 unit (approx £30) and this app has saved me having to upgrade all my switches and lights just to have alexa integrated. Well worth the £3.99. Thank you devs.

This is a great app that is constantly evolving. The developer is clearly talented and offers very professional and fast support. The comments recently left by some reviewers regarding the update that briefly wiped the Alexa Device List are unfair. This was a very minor glitch and if people had contacted the developer they would have received a very simple solution - clear the apps data and restart it. There is also no need to have a Device List backup like some suggest, the list is in the cloud as the simple fix shows and the Alexa Device List item is there its just under the Alexa Bridge option. I say to the developer your work on this app is greatly appreciated and I cannot wait for future updates and the additional functionality they will bring to the Broadlink device that without this app would be nowhere as good. 10/10

Works fine, apart from same problem raised by earlier reviewer. When screen on Android device times out or close it myself, Alexa cant see devices, strangely commands do go through but randomly and with long seconds delay between them. Tried looking through Android settings, but cant see any obvious power saving turned. Other apps continue to run in background, if enable them, no problem. Dont really want to leave screen on all time? This is an old Galaxy S5 with latest Android build.

devices in Alexa keeps going offline and had to re-discover as long as the phone goes to sleep, which made it unpractical.

Absolute must have for anyone with RM Pro. Fantastic Alexa intergration. Very stable and regular updates. What more can you ask.

Great plugin. Is there a way to access the Air Conditioning infrared codes? How about the temperature readings? Can't wait for the version with the A1.
