Poligami ?

Poligami adalah sistem perkawinan yang salah satu pihak memiliki atau mengawini beberapa lawan jenisnya dalam waktu yg bersamaan. Dalam antropologi sosial, poligami merupakan praktik pernikahan kepada lebih dari satu suami atau istri (sesuai dengan jenis kelamin orang bersangkutan). Hal ini berlawanan dengan praktik monogami yang hanya memiliki satu suami atau istri.

Sebagian pria muslim ingin melakukan poligami dengan alasan mengikuti sunnah Nabi. Sering kali sang istri tidak siap mendengar keinginan tersebut, apalagi jika yang akan menjadi madu jauh lebih muda dan lebih cantik darinya.

"Dan jika engkau takut tidak akan dapat berlaku adil terhadap (hak-hak) perempuan yang yatim (apabila engkau menikahinya), maka nikahilah perempuan-perempuan (lain) yang engkau sukai: dua, tiga atau empat. Kemudian jika engkau takut tidak akan dapat berlaku adil, maka (nikahilah) seorang saja" (QS. An Nisa’: 3) Polygamy is a marriage system that either party has or marrying some other sex in same time. In social anthropology, polygamy is the practice of marriage to more than one husband or wife (according to the sex of the person concerned). This is in contrast with the practice of monogamy that have only one husband or wife.

Most Muslim men want to practice polygamy with reasons to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet. Often the wife is not ready to hear these desires, especially if that would be the honey was much younger and prettier him.

"And if you fear you can not do justice to the (right) female orphans (if ye marry), then marry women (the other) that you enjoy: two, three or four. Then if you fear will not be able justice, then (marry) only one "(QS. an-Nisa ': 3)
